Cal POV
“Dude, we need to be leaving for the Stone Shadow Pack in the early morning as it is a far drive.” Emilio reminded me as he walked into my room.
I have been going from pack to pack looking for my mate these last five years and have yet to find her. Being twenty-three years old without having found my mate is almost unheard of in the land of wolves, especially an alpha. But here I am, no mate or pack to lead.
Although the age of relinquishment is twenty-five, I want it now. I have been training for this since my birth, I know this is meant for me.
“I know, I know. I will be ready.” I tell him as throw myself back on the edge of my bed.
“I heard Alpha Maximus has been prepping his daughter to take over his pack and she will have her Alpha Ceremony with her eighteenth birthday party tonight,” Emilio says as he sits in my lounge area. “She is apparently a babe too. She is nicely filled out in all the right places and yet deadly when it comes to combat.”
Something about his statement, made Demon growl and pace in my mind. This she-wolf seemed intriguing to me. Well, I suppose if all else fails, I can at least get laid.
‘Don’t speak like that.’ Demon growled in my head. He has been a bit more on edge lately.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
“Cal—are you free for a chat?” Savannah came in with a thin lace nightie with lust in her voice.
I knew what she wanted. Every time before I leave to visit a pack to look for my mate, she comes and reminds me that she can be my Luna. She knows I will never settle for a chosen mate because it will prevent me from taking over the pack.
“Yes, because I am sure that is what you really want to do Savannah.” My beta says rising to his feet to exit the room. “Just make sure you are ready in the morning.”
I push up off of my elbows and look over at Savannah, “So what exactly is it that you need to “chat” about, Savannah?”
“Well, you see I will be going to my cousin’s pack to visit for a while and I wanted to stop by and tell you how much I will missing you.” She says as she bites on her bottom lip, moving between my legs to straddle me. “But I would feel better if I could show you?”
“Oh, I would love for you to show me.” I had a lot of built of frustration and Savannah was always willing to allow me to take it out on her body anyway I needed.
And I did all night.
I strolled out of the house dreading the drive to the Stone Shadow Pack. I woke up a bit more anxious today than normal. I am sure it is due to the fact that I am simply tired of going to these packs hoping to find my mate.
As I reach the door to get into the car, I am stopped by my little sister who jumps on my back. “ Callie!!” She calls me the pet name she has called me since we were kids, although she is turning seventeen in two months.
“Aurora, what are you doing up so early with this much energy? Do you ever calm down?” I ask her with a pointed look.
She jumps on the balls of her feet in excitement. “Dad said we are coming with you!!!” She squeals.
SHIT!!!
“WHY?” I scowled.
“Watch your tone, Calcipher.” My father strolls out of the house with my mother, Adriana, in tow. “Maxium and Izabella have been friends of your mother and me for ages and we celebrate this night with them.”
I mentally facepalm myself because I know this means that my parents will be there to ensure I am “looking for my mate.”
“Oh great,” I say as I head back over to my black Yukon Delani and proceed to get in.
“Oh sweetie, it is not that bad that your parents are joining you. Just pretend that we are not even there.” She says as she climbs into the back with my father and sister. “It has been ages since I have seen Izabella. She and Maximus have gone through a lot in the last years and have come out stronger. Even added twins.”
I shake my head because I know this would be a long ride.
