Chapter 7

~Jordan~ I shook the almost lifeless lady who now lay on my lap. How does someone pass out from mere seeing extra heads and she's still yet to wake up now? If this is the case, she's going to struggle really hard in this Academy. "Heyy... Wake up." I said and began tapping on her cheeks lightly. My eyes went to her lips and long lashes. Even without seeing her eyes, I could tell she was extremely beautiful and I was only admiring her when Kael had walked up to me. Maybe he thought I was trying to do otherwise. Her eyelids fluttered and I sighed in relief. It was only a matter of seconds before she got fully awake. "What are you doing with our friend?" I looked up to see two she-wolves standing in front of me with disapproved glares. They both looked hot and sexy but the look on their faces was enough to not get me to think further down that lane. "I'm sorry, but what did you just call her?" I said loud enough over the music so they could hear me properly. "You're with our friend. Are you deaf, bro?" The lady in red dress said with growing irritation. Wait, I had definitely seen these females earlier and I don't get whatever twisted game they are trying to play out here. I pointed at the lady in the red dress. "You're a mind reader and you also control wolves with your minds." I said in an accusatory tone. "You told me to not let her go and also said she was a fresher that was lured into the initiation, right? Why are you now making me look like I'm the bad guy?" I continued. She cleared her throat and looked around. "Are you dumb? Keep your voice down and play along. You know how these things are done, isn't it? I'm Aurora, and this is Lily." She said and pointed to her friend. I stared at her for a long while. "Well then keep your voice down too, Aurora. Anyone may be listening and I don't want them to think I'm a pervert. So let's stay civil and quit the act. Now, you've got to pay me up. I've got other Freshers to take care of at the entrance." She opened her purse and counted out some dollar bills before handing them to me. "A quick warning though." I said as I began separating the girl's head and body from my lap. "Kael knows she's with me and he's going to come in search of her to check if she's okay, so you better have her in a good condition before then." "What do you mean by Kael? Like, Kael for the K brothers or some other Kael which we don't know about?" The second lady asked and I nodded. I messed up my already messy hair with my hand. "You know how they can be. They don't come for parties and I don't think he's ever attended a fresher party before, else he wouldn't have asked me questions that watered down my dignity." "Sorry, Jordan. Whatever he had said must have hurt like a bitch." Lily said. "Well, I want to hear all the tea." Aurora said and I shook my head. "I've not got much time. Kael saw me frighten her and thought I did that so I could take advantage of her later on which is so absurd. Then he commanded me in this tone which I still hate whenever it plays out in my head that I should take her in. He said he's going to trace our scent later on to ensure she's fine." "Wow. That sounds nice. I'm up for the task. Thanks for a job well done. You can leave now." Aurora said and sat on the space where I was getting up from while Lily settled in beside her. I watched as the lady finally stirred awake from her short sleep. "Okay. I'm not going to be here to do any explanations when she sees me and remembers all that has happened. Bye ladies, it was nice meeting you both. Now I have other mischief to plan." I walked away from them in search of Dickson. The party was getting lit and we needed to start preparing for the initiation. It was nothing dangerous, but like a form of rite of passage and welcome from the returning students to the freshers. "Hey!" I snapped my fingers at one of the seniors. "Have you seen Dickson?" "VIP." He said without sparing me a glance. "Get the f**k out of here." I pushed a she-wolf that attempted to come twerk on me and walked into the VIP room. My eyes landed on Kael while I scanned the room for Dickson and he didn't hesitate in calling me to come over. Shit. **** ~Sabrina~ "What happened to me?" I said as I placed a hand on my head which was aching badly. It was as though it was going to split into two. "So you don't remember?" I squinted my eyes through the bright dim light in the room in order to see who had spoken, properly. "Lily? Aurora?" They both nodded as my eyes moved between them one after the other. "What happened to me?" "You fell." Crap! Total crap! I could remember all the details but had decided to ask them to know where their stance and loyalty lay. Now, I was disappointed with Aurora telling me I fell. I was no fool. "Umm... Lily. I think she knows what really happened." Aurora said as guilt washed over her face and she looked away. "Yeah, I do." Lily rubbed her palms together and stared at Aurora—they both stared at each other like they were waiting for who to speak up first. But I won't have that tonight. I can't even stay here. I looked around. There were sweaty bodies, drunk wolves, wolves making out on the couch and floor and a lot of intimate but indecent activities going on for my virgin mind to soak in. "You know what, I'm out of here." I said and stood to my feet. "You both are fake friends..." I paused when I saw the looks on their faces. "What?" I demanded impatiently. "First of all, you can't leave here. Once you're here, there's no backing out." Aurora said. I drew up my brows together with a confused stare on my face. "I don't understand. What am I missing? Am I going to be used for a ritual just because I'm a fresher? Or is it the initiation you called it?" Lily looked around like she didn't want extra pairs of eyes watching or listening to us before leaning in to talk to me. "Because we care about you. I'm going to share some information with you and what I'm about to say must be taken seriously. Every returning student that gets in contact with a newbie must take them under their wings. It's an unwritten rule that we seniors in the Academy do. For this party...this is what will happen—" she began lecturing me on how the rite of passage, initiation, or whatever it's called plays out. "Hello." We all looked up to see one of the K brothers standing right before us. And he was staring right at me. What's going on? I turned to both Aurora and Lily in confusion and from the looks on their faces, I could tell they were struggling to breathe. Damn. So much for trying not to act like fangirls. "Umm... Howmaywehelpyou?" The intent was to speak slowly but I ended up rushing the question without slowing down to breathe. Was this a special effect they have on all she-wolves? He was Kael, I guess. He had a jeanshorts on with a heavy golden chain that served as the belt around his waist, then a shirt and a jacket. I could smell his cologne even from where I sat, and a mix of it with his wolfish scent was.......hold up, what's wrong with me? I slapped myself mentally and focused on him properly. He had been saying something and I hadn't been listening to. Shit. The worst part is that he was actually talking to me. Not Lily. Not Aurora. So asking him to go back on what he had been saying would sound very stupid and make it obvious also that I'd been drooling. He folded his arms across his chest and stared at me with pique curiosity. "You haven't been listening, have you?" I opened my mouth, then closed it in order not to humiliate myself further. "I was saying I saw you when you fell outside and I instructed someone to bring you in here. I came to check up on you to see if you're okay." Ohh... That was it? That's quite thoughtful of him. "Well, I'm very fine, thank you." He nodded while still staring at me in a way that made me squirming on my seat in discomfort. "Are you sure?" I nodded. Saying a word would expose how squeaky I really was at the moment. "Alright. That's good." He dipped his hands in his pocket and looked around. "If you find the noise too much for your headache and don't mind being in the VIP section where things are a little quiet, we can go there." Wait... What? Was he really asking me that? How does he even know I have a headache and the music here was making it worse? "Yeah, we would all love to. It's kinda stuffy here and we would appreciate a calmer and cooler environment for our friend." Aurora jumped in to say and I turned to her in surprise. I stylishly kicked her feet with mine and she kicked back. "Are you sure you both are her friends?" He finally stared at them with a suspicious look in his eyes. Why would he ask that? Lily and Aurora said nothing, but after a while, Kael looked back at me and nodded. "Cool. Let's all go over to VIP." I glanced at my roommates wondering what sort of unspoken conversation had happened between them while also wondering how the hell I got in this situation. And I don't know if I should be excited or run for the hills.
