~Kael~
Our car rolled up in front of the first house where we will all be getting lit tonight. I was looking forward to the funeral for tonight, but my brothers were brooding. Obviously, they don't want to party, but I had to force them out. They could be such loners and hardly party which was so annoying to me. Today was the first day of school and one of the first few days we stay sane before school kicks off officially in three days for learning and training.
"Are you guys getting out or not?" I said to them after getting out and seeing they were still seated. Our driver had driven us and he had to get back to our quarters and return when we needed him to come take us back.
Kaleb and Khemos grumbled for a while before they finally got out. "This better be worth it." Kaleb grumbled loud enough for me to hear while Khemos gave me this hard deadly stare.
I don't know what that's for but I smiled and blew him a kiss. The dude was just weird even to me as his brother, so I wonder how others around him felt with his cold attitude.
Kaleb was more bearable, but for me, I was the cool brother most people prefer to flock around. I loved the attention it brought to me, but sometimes, I disliked it because it can get all overwhelming.
As we walked up the stairs, I noticed a lady standing on the stairs and trying to talk to whom I would assume were her friends. They said a few words back to her, laughed and walked in.
Okay, definitely not her friends.
She turned around and I was taken aback by how beautiful she looked. She had long black hair, blue eyes that shone even in the dark and a round red lips that looked like a sweet lollipop to be sucked on, then the most interesting feature was the ass and boobs. She really got everything in the right places.
But I wonder if she was smart. It's hard to come across a woman that has it all. Some babes are fine like wine but very dull in their mental faculties and that has made me stay single for a long time. Rumors have it that I've dated a bunch of girls but that's not totally true. I flirt a lot and have casual flings. Nothing serious.
I clasped my hand around my mouth the moment the girl screamed and passed out. I wasn't really paying attention to what she had been doing—just staring at her alluring figure, yeah I know that's bad of me but I couldn't help it.
I noticed a guy with three heads right in front of her where she had fallen laughing his ass out. Total prick.
He must have intentionally scared her after sensing she was a fresher.
We drew nearer to them and with every step I took, I knew I wasn't supposed to leave her out there on the steps.
I stretched out my hand towards her to feel her energy.
Okay, good. She wasn't that far out which was a good thing.
"Kael, where are you going? Come on." Kaleb called out with a frown when I walked towards the main entrance instead of taking the back. We already had a secured VIP room reserved for us after we notified our event host that we would be in attendance.
"I want to go help that lady over there. It doesn't look like she's fine." I said while pointing in the direction.
Khemos scoffed. "Since when did you start offering to help drunk girls at parties? Don't tell me you plan on taking advantage of her because that will be so—"
I raised my hand up immediately, cutting him from saying more. "Hold up, hold up... Why would you think that?" I placed my hands on my waist. "How do you even see me?"
"I don't know. In fact, go do whatever you want to do. The guards aren't here with us tonight so you won't be receiving any calls from father over your behaviour." He said and walked towards the back while Kaleb followed him without even saying a word.
I jogged up to where the lady was. The guy that had frightened her was now on the floor, with his extra heads rolled back in. I couldn't see what he was doing, but I better hope he wasn't trying to mess with her.
"Hey, is everything alright?" I said in quite an intimidating tone when I got to them.
He jumped back in shock upon hearing my voice. Ah ha... He was definitely trying to take advantage of her. I'm the one trying to help right now, yet I got accused by my brother of what this dude planned to do to her.
"I'm... I've got this." He said and looked up at me. "Kael. What are you doing here?"
"I saw everything that happened. I'm only concerned and came to see if she's in good condition. What's your name?"
"I'm..." He hesitated for a while. "I'm Jordan."
"Good. Now Jordan you scared the s**t out of her and now she passed out. What are you planning to do about that?"
"Ummm.... I've got this Kael. I do. You don't need to bother about her."
I looked at the lady who didn't look like she was waking up anytime soon. She was extremely beautiful and there was something about her that held me enraptured. It was weird because I've never felt this way towards anybody. Maybe, it's the fact that she's not fine. Yeah, that must be it because I'm the most compassionate amongst my brothers.
"No. I need to be bothered. Check her pulse, Jordan." I commanded with a no nonsense look on my face.
I stared at her again, and that's when I realised she was the girl from earlier that had created a buzzing sticker with Khemos. No freaking way!
This was quite interesting. Kaleb and I had teased Khemos nonstop over the sticker and he swore he was going to put her in her place the next time she pulled up a stunt to get his attention and use him to trend. Well, it seems like we were all wrong and she wasn't just a fangirl that staged to run into Khemos. Khemos was a big off limits for the ladies, and they knew better than to go to him for crazy stunts. She was a fresher who was still learning the ropes of the Academy.
"She's not dead, at least." He said after checking her pulse and I gave him a deadly glare.
"Why are you so concerned about her? She passed out after seeing my extra heads. What's going to happen to her during the Fresher's initiation? She should be lucky for what I did. That was a good warmup though."
"Get her inside. I'm watching you." I said instead.
"But she..."
"So you're going to leave her on the porch for some idiots to come take advantage of her?"
"No. No, that wasn't my intention."
"Then what is it? At first it looked like you wanted to do that yourself."
He shook his head. "Never. I can never do that to a lady."
"Good. Now take her inside and watch her till she wakes up. I'll be leaving but I've picked up your scent. I'm going to come find you to check if she's alright, so you better do as I say and don't mess it up. Did I make myself clear?"
He nodded.
I brought my hands to his throat and squeezed it hard till he choked. "I need words."
He signalled at my hand for me to take it off so he could talk, but I squeezed it harder. "I haven't heard those words."
"Yes, Sir."
I released him slowly. "Good. Now take her inside."
I watched as he carried her in his arms up the stairs and into the frat house. I don't know why I cared so much, but it was something to be scared of.
I went towards the back to get to the VIP room where my brothers would be and other big boys and girls on campus.
"Hey, Kael. Are you just coming now? Your brothers..."
I pressed my ticket to Dickson's mouth to stop him from going further and walked in.
The room had dim light, round tables and chairs, and soft music was playing from the speakers. It was a complete opposite of the loud and wild party going on on the other side of the hall. I scanned the room for my brothers and went to them when I finally found them.
"Are you done with your new girl?" Kaleb asked with a smirk.
"What new girl are you talking about?"
I froze up hearing Ella's voice. Damn. How did she get here?
"And what are you doing here?" I asked as I clenched my teeth without even turning to spare her a glance.
"Is that a way to say hello? I've missed you." She purred and I could feel her hands running down my chest. She slowly walked over and sat on my lap. "Hi Kael. Aren't you happy to see me?"
I didn't even bother to look at her and stared at my brothers instead but they were worse off because they were holding back their laughter.
