Tuck stood outside the gate to the chain link fence that surrounded his childhood home and debated going any closer. If he were going to move in here, even for a year, he’d have to get a hell of a lot closer, so he might as well see if he could now. His stomach churned, but he’d learned long ago to put that out of his mind and do what was necessary. He flipped the latch, pushed the gate in, stepping onto the cracked and worn concrete path that served as the walkway to the house.
