The Employer

Jimmy reached the meeting location and immediately spotted Arjun. Arjun had already sent Jimmy his picture, making it easy for Jimmy to recognize him. Moreover, he was the only person in the entire parking area with a car that looked like it ate racing bikes for breakfast.

Jimmy was astonished. He noticed the beast from far away. It felt as though every other car had simply disappeared, and all Jimmy could see was that spectacular car.

Jimmy thought to himself,

*"Huh... is this what first love feels like?"*

He chuckled, and a smirk appeared on his face.

He then turned that smirk into a friendly smile and greeted Arjun.

"And you must be my new employer."

He looked at Arjun's car and said,

"I am quite satisfied that I am going to work on this beauty."

Arjun smiled proudly and said,

"Yeah, she is a beast. And you'll have to prove yourself worthy of her. I've heard good things about you, but I'm not going to let anyone sabotage my race or ruin my car."

Jimmy smirked, as if accepting the challenge. Then he slowly walked toward the car. He knew he had to make an impression, and what better way than showing off his knowledge and skills? He slowly circled around the car, carefully inspecting every inch of it. Then he asked if he could open the hood.

Arjun opened the hood to show Jimmy the engine. Jimmy observed and calculated everything. He then closed the hood, walked a little away from Arjun and his friends, turned toward Arjun, and said,

"I must say, this is an amazing car, truly worthy of winning all five races.

Nissan GT-R R35, Track-Built Metallic Black with Satin Black Carbon Fiber Aero Package, 3.8L Twin-Turbo V6 Engine, 20-inch Forged Magnesium Wheels, Semi-Slick Track Tires, approximately 850 HP. It goes from 0–62 mph in around 2.8 seconds."

Then he took a small pause.

Arjun smiled and said,

"So you know your stuff. Good."

Jimmy said with attitude and confidence in his voice and body language,

"But there is a problem."

Arjun asked,

"Problem?"

Jimmy slowly nodded, then said,

"The first race is on the Black Serpent Circuit. It's a medium-speed track with long sweeping corners and rapid direction changes. There are only two short straights, so raw horsepower won't win this race. **The driver who wins this race will be the one who carries the most speed through the corners.**"

He pointed toward the rear of the car.

"Your setup is too aggressive for straight-line speed. The rear suspension is a little too stiff. That'll force you to brake earlier than everyone else. Also, your semi-slick tires are excellent once they're hot, but tomorrow's race starts early in the evening. The surface temperature will be lower than usual, meaning you'll struggle for grip during the opening laps."

Arjun was astonished. He didn't know that such details could cause him to lose the race. He noticed some of the difficulties Jimmy mentioned in his earlier races but thought that he needed to improve his skills. **But now he knew how much of a difference a few adjustments could make.**

"So what would you change?" Arjun asked, **with a calm voice**, as if he knew that he had found the right guy, but more than that, with the satisfaction of knowing that his skills were not the reason the last race didn't go well.

Jimmy had a confident smile on his face. Then he spoke with confidence and certainty,

"I'd soften the rear suspension slightly, reduce the differential lock by a few percent, and increase the front camber just enough to improve corner entry. Finally, I'd also lower the tire pressures a little so they heat up faster."

Arjun said with a smile,

"Then let's get going."

They all sat in their cars. Jimmy sat with Arjun, and they all went to the garage that Arjun had set up. Jimmy started working on Arjun's car with the help of Arjun's friends. He was determined to make sure it was the fastest car on tomorrow's circuit.
