The First Meeting Part 4

"Why don't we just teleport back into town? I mean we both have that sort of power, well at least you do. I have the technology to do so" Lucifer said as he held onto me still, after exhausting each other we had to help one another to walk "If we teleport back into town then we will become targets easily. The space cowboys want you as badly as everyone wants me as well. We simply gotta get you to town, talk to a medic inside the red light district then we can have the first ship out of here and somewhere else." I said as I moved his arm a bit to make it more comfortable to carry him, I could use my dials to set my strength a bit higher however setting the any higher could lead to further damage on myself. However the true reason I did not use any teleportation was because of how off it was, I had to look into it further before using it again. "I guess we can do that. Where would we go? Do you have any real estate in mind? Any money we can use to buy such places?" He asked as we walked down the path of the forest, following the signs of the trail so we could get back to the city and hopefully not see any hunters in the way considering we are both very much out of commission for a while. "I don't really know to be honest." I responded with an unsure tone. I never took into consideration having a home after everything happened, not even going as far as to buy a home. There are not that many places on sale that could be hidden away and those that can be hidden away from the universe are rather hard to obtain. Lucifer let out a small sigh and suddenly there was a small screen being projected in front of us "Let me see what I can find in the good old web here. Even if it's a place away from any sort of government we have to modify the area to keep them off our tails, possibly a scrambler combined with some sort of device to have us move around constantly while keeping said place alive and not turned into ashes from a jump to other places." He was checking all sorts of places at once, from normal houses to quite literally sewer areas for sale, he was looking around from one post to another reading at unimaginable speeds until he found one singular picture of an old mansion that seemed to be on its own place somewhere in the universe "Here I think I found a little something. It's an anomaly, a mansion on a small chunk of a planet that just seems to be floating around the universe. It somehow developed its own little atmosphere, as well as just about everything a mini planet that would need. However I doubt some information is fully truthful so I will need to mess with it to make a more fallen angel and god friendly for us, but we need some money first. Local currency is about two million, but credits are about five hundred thousand." He explained to me as we saw the city in the distance, just a little longer until we could get a doctor. "Thank god that there seems to be a universal currency, reminds me of how the American dollar was accepted just about everywhere on Earth." I responded with more relief to hear that the credit price was much lower than the local currency "Yeah, getting two million cueas would be very difficult. However credits are much easier for us since they are universal currency that can be used anywhere. It's at least five hundred thousand credits, which if you check the numbers from two million cueas is actually worth three hundred thousand but it's a place that no one thinks they would buy and far enough to give us enough time to get set up on our base." He said, giving me a little refresh on how economy works in the vast universe. "Now what about money? How much do you have on you? You have been on the run for a year now, and taking down people a lot. Gotta have at least two hundred thousand saved somewhere right?" He asked to which I looked away a bit and then responded in a low unsure voice "Well... You see.... I tipped someone... about.." I finished saying what I said in such a low voice that he could not hear, to which he looked at me with a worried look "Please don't tell me you didn't waste your money on strippers and booze" He said ready to smack me with the same arm he was barely holding onto me with "No, come on. I am not that sort of guy. But it's not too far from the truth as well" He let go of me then looked at me in the eyes with disappointed, like a parent would to a child that did something wrong "Gabriel, what did you do with the money" He asked with a serious, scolding like tone as I scratched my head and let out a sigh "I met someone in the red light district, in a restaurant that was basically a brothel. She was nice, and was there against her own good will. She wanted a good life but she did not have the money to do so. I thought I tipped her about one thousand five hundred credits to help her with the rent of the month, but I accidently tipped her one hundred thousand five thousand credits" I said in a bit of shame, but at the same time I did not feel shame since Arosa seemed like a genuinely good person who was just in a bad spot "Out of how much?" He asked as he rubbed the bridge of his nose "Two hundred thousand. At the moment, I did not really care since well I had no plan of going to buy a house. Hell. I was planning on just skipping town tomorrow. How can you blame me for not being prepared for something I did not know would happen?" I asked as he tried to say something but he just let out a defeated sigh "Okay yeah that's fair, who knows I might have done the same. Well regardless I have about one hundred thousand. Meaning that we have a total of two hundred thousand, we need to get three hundred thousand more. Which will probably be done via a job, we gotta charge our batteries though, and leave this planet before we are both tracked." I nodded in agreement then went to have him hold onto me as he was a bit ago "Yeah we will, we gotta find a medic first and allow you to heal though. Don't worry too much, I think we can stay in this town for another day. I can make a call and find a job I believe. Met someone who caught my eye today, no not the girl I gave my money to. It was someone else much before that." I responded before Lucifer could sass me back about my mistake, however we both just smiled and let out a small chuckle as we made it back onto the real path and started making our way down the road until we ended up back in the Red light district in no time. It was odd, I thought that I had teleported us much further away however it seems like we barely moved two miles at the most. I hoped that it was nothing but a simple fluke from my side. "Hey you alright? You dozed off for a second there? Feel someone is following us?" He asked to which I shook my head and kept walking towards the heart of the Red Light District "No, just realized something but it's probably nothing. I think I saw a little medic shop on the corner around here." I said still carrying him as quickly and as carefully as I could, with both of our states we really had to keep our heads out of public as much as we could otherwise we were as good as dead "There, next to the gun shop there is a medic shop... Ironic, put a gun shop next to a doctor's office. Ain't that a little something?" He said with a small chuckle as we made our way to the door, walked inside the rather empty lobby and went up to the counter. There was a small silver bell that I rang a couple of times "Is anyone here? Preferably anyone that speaks human dialect?" I asked out loud as the room layed silent "Leave the talking to me, I got a little chip that can help me translate just about any known language. I could have bought one but I made one just as good" He said to me as I looked behind the counter and saw no one to come "Well you do forget, I can speak any language and understand it. God powers and all, it's just easier for me really. Also makes it so that I don't end up butchering a name" Lucifer chuckled a little bit as a young looking man came up to the counter, he was wearing a white lab coat with several blood splatters "Good evening gentlemen. What may I help you with today?" He asked as if he was running a candy shop, then again medical advancements became so easy to achieve that people just ran clinics as if they were shops "Hello there, me and my buddy here got into a bit of a brawl and we just need something to fix us up a bit." I said back to the man running the shop as he looked at us up and down "Ah so a simple little med kit should suffice nothing to worry" he said as he went under the counter and pulled out two syringes with red liquid in them "Here you go, these will boost your regenerative factors as well as get rid of your fatigue. You'll feel nice and young again. It'll be two thousand credits please" he informed us as I pulled out my card and paid fully, he handed us the syringes and I injected Lucifer first then me. Before we knew it all of our bruises and cuts were gone, and we both felt like we could run a mile "Thank you doctor. Do you know any safe hotels around here? We leave tomorrow and need a place to stay." I asked as I went to throw away the syringes "There is a rather nice hotel next to Succubus Dinner. You'll hear a lot of people doing their business but it's a safe zone compared to most hotels." He responded to us as he yawned and stretched, now barely paying attention to us as he checked his inventory "Yeah, we'll go there. Thank you very much. Are you ready to go?" I asked Lucifer as he stretched and cracked his body. Whatever was in those things really did the job. "Yeah, I am all good to go. May have to get some parts for my arm considering you kind of broke it but I'll do that later on" He said in a playful manner, a while ago we were trying to end each other and now we might as well be close friends. We walked out of the clinic and started walking towards the hotel, which Lucifer started putting two and two together realizing why I knew where it was "Please do not tell me that you went to a s*x restaurant, and tipped a stripper your entire bank account" I stayed quiet for a secound before receiving a small hit to the back of my head as he sighed "I trully do not understand how can a man that's feared universally is actually a dumbass" He said with a smile as we passed by the dinner, and in a way my heart wished to see Arosa but then I realized that after seeing the tip she may have ran to chase her dream or perhaps she hasn't seen it and she is working. Either one, I was happy that although it was a mistake that she will be able to find her path in life soon.
