Chapter 4

Elena smoothened her dress as she sat across from brothers in the platinum booth. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, and the soft murmur of conversation filled the upscale restaurant. "Do you feel any better sister? I don't want you to worry about anything." Said Kelvin, the youngest brother. Ethan, the oldest brother, wore a big smile. "You don't have to cry any more. I'm going to protect." "As for your ex husband and his girlfriend, they will pay for ever messing with one of the Andersons." Her second brother Martins cracked his finger. "You can count on me to protect you as well sister, also I'm going to spoil you so much." Mark was the third brother. Since the day Elena arrived he has actually been spoiling her. Elena's heart fluttered. So this is how it feels to have brothers. She then glanced around at the gold-trimmed walls. "Why are we spending so much at a place like this? I mean, I know we're.." She stopped mid-sentence, remembering. Right. They were loaded. Sometimes she still forgot what that meant. Kelvin set down his menu and grinned. "Actually, sis, there's something I should tell you." "What?" "We own this upscale restaurant. The whole chain, actually. My grandfather acquired it last year." Elena's fork clattered against her plate. "We what?" "Own it. So eat anything you want." He laughed. "Well, technically bills are on us." She shook her head in disbelief. "You couldn't have mentioned this before?" "Where's the fun in that?" Ethan signaled the waiter. "Bring us your best dishes. Everything." Elena couldn't help but smile. Her brothers always knew how to make her feel better, especially after the day she'd had. The memory of getting the divorce papers. Tiffani still burned in her mind, but she pushed it away. Tonight was about moving forward. They were halfway through their appetizers when a commotion near the entrance caught her attention. "I'm sorry, sir, but the Platinum Lounge is fully booked tonight," the hostess said apologetically. "I promised my girlfriend we'd dine there. Can't you make an exception?" "I'm afraid not, sir. But we have availability in our regular lounge. It's still quiet." "Fine. Regular lounge then." Aaron and Tiffani settled for the regular lounge. One can see the irritation on her face. Although the regular lounge had a beautiful view, eating at the premium lounge showed social standing. An hour later, Elena and her brothers finished eating. "Ready to go?" "Yes." Actually Elena hadn't felt this way in centuries. They stood, and Kelvin offered his arm. Elena took it, letting him guide her out of the Platinum Lounge. The exclusive section had a separate exit that led through the main restaurant, and as they walked through, heads began to turn. Whispers started immediately. "Is that the Andersons brothers?" "Oh my God, it is!" "Who's the woman with them?" "She's so beautiful." Flashes of camera light filled their faces. Although security was there to stop the crowd from going crazy. Elena kept her head low as they walked, ignoring the cameras. In the regular lounge, Tiffani grabbed Aaron's arm. "Babe, what's happening?" Aaron craned his neck. "Someone famous must be here." They both stretched to see past the crowd gathering near the Platinum Lounge entrance. "Elena". Her name escaped his mouth. His ex-wife. Walking arm-in-arm with the Andersons brothers. blood drained from his face. "That's... that's Elena," Tiffani exclaimed. Her face went pale. Aaron pushed through the crowd of gawking diners, his heart hammering. What was Elena doing with Kelvin Andersons? How did she even know him? "Elena!" he called out. She stopped. Kelvin turned slightly, his expression cool and assessing. Aaron rushed forward, nearly tripping over his own feet. "Elena, I.." He looked at Kelvin, then back at her. "Wife, I need to talk to you." Elena's eyes went cold. "Ex-wife.”
