Some days passed after Victor's arrest and my rescue. Very long and exhausting days.
The kidnapping was everywhere on the news.
Every channel talked about Simeon Kane’s arrest and how he had orchestrated everything because my father planned to expose his illegal dealings.
Reporters crowded outside our mansion daily.
Police officers came in and out constantly.
And somehow, despite all the chaos around me…
Victor remained the only thing on my mind.
I hated it.
I hated that after finding out he killed my mother, part of me still couldn't let him go.
My father noticed it too.
That was probably why he hadn't asked me about my relationship with Victor.
