Ava’s POV By the time I woke up the next morning, Adrian was already awake. I could hear his voice drifting from the living room through the partially open bedroom door. It was low and controlled, the voice he used when discussing business, and somehow that alone made everything feel normal again. Last night felt almost unreal now, like something that had happened in another lifetime instead of a few hours ago. I remained beneath the blankets for a few extra moments.
