The breeze was cold. I could see the full moon shining bright up above. It was calm, like I am. The view from the balcony was stunning. There were lights below me. In such a small town, it is crowded with lights. People believe here that the only way to get rid of monsters is to get rid of darkness first for monsters lurks by the dark. "Serenity!" An audible call from my aunt was heard from down stairs. "Yes?!" I replied. "Dinner is ready!" She yelled once again. "Okay." I went on my way down stairs. The food smelled amazing. It isn't much, but it sure smelled delicious. "Let's eat." Aunt said while preparing plates on the table. I went to the kitchen and sat on the chair. Aunt prepared a few and we ate. We enjoyed the food while me and aunt made a small conversation. After eating, I prepared myself for bed. I took a quick bath and brushed my teeth. After doing my business in the bathroom, I went to my room and clothed myself. It was cold even inside. I went to the balcony from my room and admired the moon once again. It was telling its story. How it became what it is now. "How beautiful isn't it?" A voice spoke behind me. I was startled. I felt a shivering electricity drove to my spine. Suddenly the surrounding became humid. I immediately turned my back and faced this mysterious voice. It was a man wearing a red and black cloak. His head was down and his long hair covered his face. He looked up and stared at me with a smirk. Something about him screamed danger. I stepped back scared by his heavy aura. "Who—who are you!" I yelled. My chest became heavy as he stepped forward towards me. "Your kind." He giggled. "I never expected of meeting my kind in this human world." He swayed his hair. His face was pale, but his lips were red as can be. It was glossy. His iris were red and his stares speaks trouble. "Help!" I yelled loud enough for aunt to hear me downstairs. "Hush! I'm just here to say hello." This muscular man walked elegantly. "Stay away from me!" I shouted and held out my arm trying to stop him from coming from me. "I assume you haven't yet awaken. That's why the smell of your blood is faint. But don't worry my dear, for a thousand years, the blue moon once again came back. And when it rises, only the chosen newborns will bloom. And I believe, you are one of them." He was moving closer to me that I kept stepping backwards until I have no more step left. "Hmmm... such a pretty face. Unique eyes. I've never seen those eyes before, especially your a—" "Stay away from her!" My aunt yelled behind us cutting the man's words. My aunt's face became different. She had this green symbols on her face. It was glowing. Her eyes were glowing as well and I could sense that she's furious. "Oh, what do we have here?" The man gave me a grin before turning to face my aunt. I stood there quite as I can. I can't even move a muscle. "A lone elf, shouldn't you be out with your kind?" He chuckled sarcastically. "Leave or else!" My aunt yelled. I was flabbergasted by the scene. The immense aura they secrete were heavy. The way they stare at each other is like they were enemy for a long time. Many questions instantly flashed in my head, but it was dominated by the great fear. "Don't worry dear, I came not to make a scandal, I came here to welcome this beautiful lady." He grinned and swayed his hands towards me. "I will not stay any longer, goodbye." He vanished in thin air. The humid surrounding became normal. My chest lightened. The heavy feeling faded. I looked at my aunt and the symbols all over her body was still glowing green. I looked at her eyes and she looked worried. "What just happened?" I questioned myself as I took a deep breath and sighed. "We need to leave as soon as possible." My aunt said grabbing my arm. "Wait!" I pulled my arm off her. "What is this all about? Who was that man? Why did he disappear in thin air? What's on you? Why are you glowing!" I shouted in confusion. "I am an elf!" She shouted stopping me from saying a word. "You see this glow? I'm an elf of the forest!" She added. "What?" I questioned her. "Yes, I'm an elf. And that man was a vampire!" I was filled with confusion. I couldn't process what had happened immediately. "You are one of his kind." She said as she sat on my bed. "What?" I sat beside her. "You are a vampire, but at the same time you have the blood of a werewolf. You have the ability of both origins or as human calls it, you are a hybrid. Half wolf, half vampire." "I—I don't understand!" I stuttered. "Once they found out that you are a hybrid, they will kill you. Once the blue moon appears, both of your blood will be awaken. We must leave before they found you!" Aunt yelled with a worried tone. "We need to go!" She exclaimed and stood up holding my hands and the symbols and the glow faded. I grab my jacket and wore it. Aunt turned off the electricity within our house and head out the door. She didn't brought any clothes with her. "Come on!" She said dragging me outside. The street was quiet. Only the flickering street lights made light on the dark. The breeze was cold and the blinds in the houses were shut keeping evey lights on. I shrugged my shoulder as I felt shivers on my spine. "Hurry, we need to go!" She whispered. "Wait, something is wrong." I stopped as I felt danger ahead us. "We have no time, we need to le—" My aunt's words were cut short when this gang of men appeared from the dark. "Well what do we have here, a chubby auntie and a little cutie." This guy in white sleeveless shirt smirked. "Yeah." His allies sang sarcastically. "Leave!" My aunt commanded. "Hmmm... a feisty old woman aye?" He said sarcastically. "I assume you're the leader?" My aunt asked. "That's right and you better hand me your money or else!" He exclaimed. I saw my aunt's eyes being furious. She grasp his fist and started to glow. If those freaks sees my aunt glowing, they would probably hunt us down. I stood up front trying to confront those bastards. "Leave if you don't want to get crushed." I looked at them with daring eyes. I swayed my hair aside from my face. "Crushed by who?" "Me." I firmly stated. "Boys, give me their limbs." The man grinned. His man ran towards us with their bats. Before even they came closer I suddenly read their moves. My senses suddenly sharpened. I couldn't control my body. My body bent down forming the posture of an attacking wolf. My body became flexible, I could feel it bending in its own will. I didn't know what happened, but I gave in. Every hit I made lands a critical blow on each men. They haven't even landed any blow on me. My body just fought with elegance. I could hear their movements and that made me invincible. My agility and speed was enhanced by that state. Blow after blow, I took them all down. They groaned in pain as we walked pass them. My aunt seemed shocked by what just happened. "The senses of a wolf already came in you which is, it is supposed to come when the blue moon appears at its highest point." She said. "Forget it, I thought monsters like us lives by the dark, but humans are, they're more pathetic than a monster." I stated. After sometime of walking, aunt led us to a small café in the middle of the night. "Theresse, let us in." Aunt knocked on the door calling I assume the owners name. A moment later, the door opened. This strick looking elderly greeted us with bombastic eyes. "What do you want?" She questioned aunt. My aunt gasped for air. "They found us." Theresse's eyes widened. "Come in." She whispered. N.G.
