Pumps and Positivity

*Ariella* Carter shoved a pile of dresses into my arms, ushered me into a dressing room and then slid a shoe box beneath the stall door. “Put those shoes on and show me.” “You’re so extra…” I groaned as I undressed myself. “Do it.” “And did you have to be so rude to the Alpha?” I asked as I unzipped a dress from its hanger. “He isn’t my alpha.” Carter sneered with a chuckle. “Still… I have to keep up appearances while I’m here… if you start disrespecting him he could lash out at me…” “Why do you even care?” Carter's voice was disgusted. “Well…” I paused, I didn’t really know why I cared. “Well?” Carter pressed. I sighed and pulled open the door, a really green dress hung loosely over my chest as I turned. He zipped the back and it tightened. I dropped my hands from my breasts and smoothed the fabrics over my stomach, pausing as my stomach rumbled for a brief moment. We had planned to get lunch but Carter was too excited to shop. “I don’t know…” I said honestly as I swiveled slightly on the silver heels that strapped around my ankle. “Are you falling for this guy?” “What!?” I defended, “No! I just… it’s the heat… it’s making me stupid…” “You aren’t stupid Ari, it’s natural…” “It’s stupid.” “Nature isn’t stupid…” “Says a guy…” He chuckled as he nodded, picking at pieces of the dress. He gave a disapproving look. “I don’t like this one… the colour doesn’t look right with your skin…” he quickly pulled the zipper down. Making me cover my chest again before it fell down. “Why can’t I just wear the one from the last gala…?” I pouted. As he pushed me back to the fitting room. “Well first off, no self respecting lady would show up on the arm of the Alpha in a reused dress.” He rolled his eyes as if it was obvious. “Secondly, you and your little horndog ruined the back of it…” I blushed brightly, forgetting how his c*m had run down my legs and soaked a line into the back of the navy blue silk gown. Carter scolded me for ruining a good dress about as much as he had scolded me for f*****g the Alpha in the first place… “Can you not be so loud about it?” “Oh, don’t act shy now, you little dirty delinquent.” “Carter!” He giggled helplessly, I’m glad he was finding amusement from my embarrassment… “Try the next one.” He ordered. I rolled my eyes again and breathed out a frustrated sigh before I let the dress slip from me and carefully hung it back on its hanger before moving it to a hook on the opposite side of the room. The next one was orange, he made an even more disgusted face at it than the last and hardly even let me get out of the fitting room. The next one was maroon, it had thin lace shoulder straps and hugged every curve of my body. It had a low hanging back and small silvery crystal embellishments around the belt that sat right at my waist. A long leg slit on the right side showed off my muscled leg while bringing elegance. I stepped out holding my chest with one arm as I pulled my hair over my shoulder with the other. Carter gasped as he looked at me, a giddy smile spreading on his face as I turned on my heel for him to zip the dress. The low back cut of the dress caused the zipper to sit just above the small of my back. “It’s like it was made for you…” he whispered as he squeezed his hands on my shoulders while we looked into the 3 sided mirror. “You’re stunning.” He pulled my hair from my shoulder and fluffed it around my body. I smiled at myself and nodded. “How’d you get to be so grown up…?” He asked, his voice wavering as if he was going to cry. “Are you going to cry?” I teased. He sniffled and shook his head. “No! I’m a man! Men don’t cry.” He teased back, but I watched him wipe a tear that lingered at his eye. We giggled before he ushered me back to get dressed. “Ella!” Beth smiled as I walked into the house with a large bag with my shoes and a garment carrier with my dress neatly hung inside. “Hey, what’s up?” She motioned me to follow her and I followed her into one of the sitting rooms on the main floor. I set my bag down on the brown chair then hung my dress over the back of one of the bigger couches before she grabbed my arms and pulled me to sit beside her. Her face beamed brightly, she bounced slightly. “What?” I asked more pressingly. “I’m…” she paused and blinked rapidly as she took in a deep breath and dipped her voice to a whisper. “Pregnant!” “Oh my god!” I squealed with her, “Beth! That’s incredible! Congratulations!” She wrapped her arms around me and I followed suit by hugging her back. “How did Esen take it?” She shrugged “I haven’t told him…” “What why?” “He wanted to do our Marking on our anniversary… I was going to tell him as my anniversary gift to him next week.” “That’s an awesome anniversary gift.” We giggled together as she nodded. “Oh, Beth! I’m so excited for you!” I hugged her again. My heart sank slightly as I hugged her. I was excited for her… but once my mission was complete I would never see them again… I would miss the birth of her pup, I would miss the happiness she’d share during her pregnancy… in just a week I felt I had become closer to Beth than any other female I had ever met, and in a way, it broke my heart that I wasn’t there to be her friend… I had a mission to carry out…
