Her Beauty

*Gabriel* I fiddled with my new cufflinks as I waited on Ella, she had taken up the bathroom for the last hour, not even letting me in to watch her get ready. She wanted me to see the dress on her for the first time when she was completely done getting ready. I had only seen the colour and matched my button down shirt to it. It had fake silver and diamond designs on the belt around the waist and I matched diamond and stainless steel cuff links to it from a jewelry store up the road from the hotel. I had on black suit pants with black suspenders that had steel buckles on each strap. A black tie with a steel tie clip holding it down to my shirt. I left my blazer hung over the chair near the door. I set a rectangular, black velvet box on the bed beside my bag as I waited. After a few minutes of pacing I sat on the bed and flicked the box open again to look at it. If I was going to have diamonds adorning my attire I was surely going to make sure my mate matched me. The petite tennis bracelet shimmered under the light of the hotel room. Esen had helped me pick it earlier in the day. Silver Falls, despite being small, had one of the most sought after jewelry stores in the nation. Esen picked a ring for Beth, their 5 year anniversary was a week away. He planned to officially ask her to marry him since she always dreamed of having a traditional wedding. They had always planned to mark one another on their 5th anniversary, but Esen wanted to take it over the top by finally asking her and giving her the ring she so desperately wanted. Honestly, I was always surprised they never had sooner, the amount of self control it takes to not mark your mate is torturous… at least, in my experience it had been. I flipped the box shut as the bathroom door creaked open and Ella walked out. I stood and she smiled. Her cheeks were already flushing red as I stared. Carter was right… She was stunning… Her light brown hair had defined big curls, pinned over one shoulder with a fake diamond flower shaped barrette. Her lips covered in a deep red lipstick, gentle mascara and eyeliner brought boldness to her eyes. The embellishing on her waist accentuated her hips. The slit up the right side of her leg showed her well defined muscles. The colour complimented her beautiful skin and her dark eyes. The thin, lace straps over her shoulders sat perfectly. I could even just barely see the tiny purple mark I had left on her left shoulder just beneath the strap. She was like a perfectly dressed doll. Once again I found myself completely taken aback by her appearance. She was truly flawless… “Spin.” I ordered. And she turned on her heel, the low cut back of her dress showing off her perfectly tanned skin. “What do you think?” She asked slowly as she came full circle. “I think… you look like the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen…” I responded honestly. Her face blushed even more red. Her minimal makeup hardly hid the rouging in her cheeks. I couldn’t even take my eyes off of her… she truly was breathtaking. “Really?” She asked, looking down and fiddling with her hands. I stepped up to her and caught her chin with my fingers, pulling her face up to me before pecking her lips gently so as to not disturb her lipstick. “You’re breathtaking.” I responded with a serious tone. She smiled with a short chuckle, too shy to respond. “I… got you something.” I said softly as I released her chin from my fingers. I turned back to the bed and picked up the box, I handed it to her. “What’s this…?” She asked, her manicured fingers plucking the box from my hand. “It’s… customary for an Alpha to pick a gift for their date before a Gala…” I responded as she slowly opened the top. Her eyes glistened as she looked at the bracelet. She picked it up with one hand and set the box down on the bed beside where she stood and moved the bracelet between her fingers. A tear slipped from her eye as she studied the shimmering diamonds placed on a band of stainless steel. “Princess…” I chuckled and used my thumb to gently dab away the tears as it fell. “Don’t Cry…” I whispered as I carefully grabbed the bracelet from her fingers. “Gabriel… I can’t accept this…” she whispered in a broken voice. “I picked it for you.” I said with a smile, motioning her hand to me as I held the two sides of the bracelet between my two hands. “I can’t… that's too much…” “Nothing is too much for you Ella…” I responded as she slowly brought her right hand up to me. I closed the clasp around her wrist and carefully spun the bracelet around with my thumb. She brought it closer to her face, tears still threatening to fall as she studied it. “It’s… beautiful…” she breathed. “Gabriel… thank you…” she wrapped her arms around my shoulders. “Anything for you…” I responded into her ear as she squeezed me. “We’d better get going… Esen and Beth will be waiting…” The Silver Falls packhouse sat in a wooded area a few miles from the hotel. The trees opened just enough for a road to lead to the house, but the house was bordered on three sides with miles and miles of forest that tracked up to the mountains. The circular driveway led us up to a mansion of dark brick. The cobblestone walkway was neatly kept with shrubs and flowers on either side leading up to the staircase that led inside. I climbed from the car and placed my hand out for Ella. She swung her legs from the car and placed her hand in mine as she stood, then hooked her arm into mine as I held it to my side. Esen and Beth followed closely behind in the same manner. Esen was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and blue tie, Beth had on an elegant blue evening gown with her hair smoothed down neatly over her shoulders. We reached the door and were greeted by a smiling man with dirty blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. “Welcome Gabriel! Esen!” We both smiled graciously to Beta Nathan. “Nathan… you remember Beth, Esens mate…” I introduced then turned to the vixen clung to my arm, her heartbeat was increasing. I could tell her nerves were getting to her. “This is my date tonight Ella… Ella, this is Beta Nathan of the Silver Falls pack.” “A pleasure to meet you.” “And you.” She responded As they shook hands before he motioned us to follow him into the ball room with equally well dressed men and women. His mate, Emily smiled as she handed us glasses of wine. She had on a thin black dress that was skin tight, I wondered how she walked in it… “C‘Mon… Alpha Roman is mingling with guests…” We followed Nathan through the room to the other side of the ballroom floor. Soon I could see Alpha Roman surrounded by a group of beautiful women, laughing and joking. Roman smiled and shooed away his lady entourage before he turned to greet us. His eyes immediately fell on Ella as he scanned us. “Gabriel!” He cheered, “Good to see you again!” “Nice to see you too…” I responded, his gaze shot up to me as he went to shake my hand but I caught his eyes falling back to Ella. I squeezed my hand tightly around his, bringing his attention to my eyes. I furrowed my brow slightly. He smirked Roman was older than me by a couple years, he had taken over his pack about the same time I did. He had short dark hair and blue eyes. He wore a navy suit with a matching suit vest in place of a blazer. “Alpha Gabriel, who is your friend?” He asked warmly as he broke my stare and landed back on her. “This is Ella. My date…” “Pleasure.” She said as she raised her right hand to him. He cupped her hand in his fingers and planted a kiss on the top of her hand. “The pleasure is all mine, Miss Ella.” He grinned. She pulled her hand back from him quickly and placed it on my arm. I could hear her stomach grumble as she sucked nervously to my side I opened the mind link with Beth and Esen… “I don’t like the way he’s looking at her… Beth, please take her to get something to eat…” Without a response to me Beth looked back toward the dining area door. “Ella, are you hungry?” “Starving actually!” Ella said excitedly. I could tell she was relieved to be pulled away from the situation. “Let’s go get some snacks.” Beth giggled as she reached for Ella’s hand. “See you shortly, Princess…” I whispered to her as she was pulled from my arm. She paused and placed her lips on mine before she was pulled completely from my grasp. I was left smiling after her as she and Beth walked arm in arm to the dining area. “What a catch ya got there Gabe…” Roman nudged my arm as he watched Ella go. “How about we talk business?” I stated, taking a slight step to the side to block his view of Ella as she went. “Sure… let’s talk business.” He relented.
