*Ariella* “Good form!” Carter called. I had him pinned beneath my body, straddling his chest. While he was bigger and stronger than me, I was faster and lighter on my feet. We both panted, sweat built up on our bodies as we had wrestled and fought, dirt stuck to his back and arms where he had smudged his body into the dirt of the training area. I laughed as he bucked me off with his hips. He managed to weasel his arm beneath my knee and forced me onto my back with my leg slung over his shoulder. His groin pressed uncomfortably against me and his hands pinned my arms down over my head. I panted hard, squirming beneath his body as he held me tightly to the ground beneath him. Carter grinned a triumphant smile before I whipped my other leg up and locked my ankles around the back of his head, causing him to lose his balance and fall over top of me. Where I used my acrobatic body to shimmy my way from beneath him and pin him once again to the ground, this time, his chest and cheek scratching into the dirt. I somehow managed to get his arms behind his back and pressed his wrists up his back until I felt his arms tense where they couldn’t move anymore. He grunted in pain as his muscles strained. “Alright! I give! I give!” “Nah, say uncle.” I ordered “f**k! Uncle! Uncle!” I released his arms and he went limp beneath me, groaning at the pain as his arms released from his back. “Jesus Christ, you’re the devil.” I laughed as I stood and offered my hand to him after he rolled onto his back. “Don’t touch me you crazy little spider monkey!” He teased as he swatted my hand away. I laughed as I fell to the ground, leaning my chest over my legs as he continued to groan in pain. He let out a chuckle as he tried to catch his breath. “You let a girl beat you up?” I heard Mason’s deep voice tease at the fence. He had one booted foot rested against the lower rung of the fence and his arms crossed over the upper one. “Have you fought this one before!?” Carter yelled back, lifting his head only enough to peek at Mason before letting his head drop back into the dirt. Then he shot a pointed finger at me. “She’s a slimy little she-devil with no bones!” We burst into laughter at the notion. He always joked I was more limber than I appeared to be, especially when I was able to get him into positions that seemed impossible for his big body to be forced into by a body as small as mine. Carter was 6’2, easily 200 and some pounds of thick muscle and years of training on me. I hardly stood 5 feet tall but had a curving figure with a thick bottom, large breasts and decently muscled legs. I was constantly reminded by other males, both from the Farm and strangers in town that I had a body that many wanted, whether out of jealousy or out of lust. Mason shook his head, but I could see a small smirk lingering on his lips. “Come see me after you get cleaned up. Both of you.” Mason said before turning and walking away. “Yes sir!” We called in unison. “Think we are in trouble?” Carter teased. I laughed and shrugged before standing. I stepped from the shower and rung my hair in a towel before pulling on a pair of tight dark jeans and a bra with a light pink tank top. I slipped on a pair of warm socks before sneaking my way through the dark house to Mason's office. I stopped at the door and waited as I heard Mason addressing Carter. “Just… Just keep my girl safe Carter… Please…” “Of course Sir…” I heard Carter respond before I knocked gently on the door and peeked my head in at them. They sat facing one another on either side of Mason's desk. Carter had showered and changed into basketball shorts and a loose band t-shirt. He had on a pair of moccasin slippers and was leaned back comfortably in the large chair across from Mason. Mason cleared his throat, “Ari.” he began, tapping some papers in a stack as he addressed me. “We were just talking about your upcoming assignment…” “Were you?” I asked as I fell into the opposite chair of Carter. My wet waves of hair stuck to the leather of the seat before I pulled the long locks to the front of my chest. He nodded. “We are changing the plans…” “What!?” I interrupted immediately, “Mason, you promised…” “Hush.” He scolded with an annoyed voice, “I am not taking you off your assignment…” “Oh…” I started, “Then what?” “The Alpha is having a Gala…” Mason began. “On Saturday night.” “Oh…” “I am sending you two early, to attend the Gala. It's an open invitation for everyone in the area, to celebrate some alliance they made with another pack.” Mason looked down at the papers in front of him. Then he turned the flier to me. “The Full Moon and Silver Falls packs are proud to extend an invitation to all allied pack members to attend a celebration at the Full Moon Pack house of the Belford Family. This event will be held on Saturday the 16th of April and Attire is formal. All attendees are asked to wear masquerade attire including an eye and/or face mask of some sort to match the theme decided upon by the Belford and Wilson Families. The doors to the venue will be opened at 5PM. Free cocktails will be served starting at 6 with time to socialize. Dinner will be served at 8PM with a few words from the families and festivities will go until 3AM.” “f**k… We have to party till 3 AM?” Carter groaned. I rolled my eyes at him. “You used to love partying till 3.” I jested. “Yeah when I was 20…” “Carter, Ari, Please be serious.” “So you are sending us in like 5 days…” “You’ll be a few days short of graduating but yes…” I nodded, “Do you want me to do it on that night?” “I am leaving the details up to you to decide Ari… You wanted this assignment so badly, I can only give you the tools to get there… you will have to decide how you want to fulfill the assignment.” He flipped another paper to me, a picture of an older man, he was handsome with salt and pepper hair, hazel green eyes that seemed to sparkle even in the picture. I recognized him. “Alpha Valerian will be in attendance, you can either make the move there or wait. I am counting on you to make up the plan to fulfill your assignment… just like I do with all my field operatives…” I swallowed hard looking over the picture of the Full Moon Alpha. His picture sickened me, and all I could see was pure evil incarnated into a man who murdered my family. “Don’t give me that look Ari…” He scolded me, I hadn’t realized I had been giving him a concerned child like stare, lost and confused at what I would do when faced with Alpha Valerian. “You wanted this assignment. No matter if I favor you or not, I expect you to carry out your assignment like every other operative from my group…” I nodded, “Yes sir…” “I have a prepaid card set up with more than enough to get you guys proper attire and your hotel room and such…” He said, the card making a snapping noise on the desk as he set it down. “I have your transport set up… your Go bags are packed and ready for you…” he sighed and gave an odd look to Carter, then me. “Get packed… I am sending you guys tomorrow so you have time to get your attire situated. I have a list of stores you guys can check for your outfits.” “Tomorrow?” I asked, “But… My birthday…” I gave him a sad puppy look. I had spent every single birthday since coming to the Farm with Mason, not ever missing a single celebration with him. “Carter, You’re dismissed…” Carter gave me a worried look but stood and left the room. “Ari…” Mason sighed softly. “Mason… I’ve spent every birthday with you…” “I know Ari… But you wanted this Assignment, the arrangements had to be made… we have to make sacrifices to do the things we want to accomplish…” “Mason…” “Ariella…” My full name almost stung, he only used my full name when he was being serious… But then his eyes softened and he sighed, leaning back in his chair and staring at me. “Ariella… Please don't make this harder than it needs to be… I already don’t want to send you on this mission… Full Moon has already done so much damage to you, to your family, to other smaller packs… they are notorious for killing spies and traitors…” “I know… But… I have to do this… You have to understand that I need to do this…” He nodded, “I know kiddo…” he sighed, running a hand through his slowly graying hair. A lot of people teased that having a ‘daughter’ like me was the cause of his premature gray hairs. “I just… would rather not send you on a mission like this for your first…” I shrugged with a smile “Gotta start somewhere right?” I asked. He nodded and the corner of his lip lifted in a small smile. “We will celebrate your birthday when you get back… okay?” “Promise?” I asked. He nodded, “Of course Kiddo.” I stood and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, kissing his cheek gently. “Cake and ice cream please.” I said happily. “As always.” he let out a small chuckle and patted my upper back. “Go get packed. You leave at 8 AM.” “Yes sir.”
