*Ariella* As Gabriel left to find Esen I sighed and looked around his room, still dimmed by the dark curtains. I decided to curl back into the bed. For the first time in a week I felt safe, and as the constant feeling of fear lessened, I found myself utterly exhausted. I pulled the thin sheet over myself, still too warm for the comforter crumpled at the end of the bed, then I grabbed one of his pillows and hugged it to my chest. The smell of him soothed me and I quickly fell asleep.
