Days Without War.

A full month passed without a single war horn. Nightfall’s borders remained quiet. The western territory that once belonged to Ironfang was claimed without resistance and placed under a trusted Beta. Scattered Redclaw survivors stayed far away. No new challengers tested the gates. For the first time since Selene had arrived, the fortress breathed like a place that expected tomorrow to look much like today. She woke most mornings in the center of the big bed, warm and surrounded. Ronan’s arm was usually locked around her waist. Kael’s hand rested over her stomach or tangled in her hair. Darius tended to end up lower, cheek against her thigh or stomach, as if even in sleep he needed to stay close to her scent. On this particular morning the sunlight was soft and gold. Selene stretched slowly between them and felt three pairs of eyes open almost at once. Kael spoke first, voice still rough from sleep. “You’re awake early.” “So are you,” she answered. Ronan nuzzled the back of her neck. “We have a council meeting at midday. Territory reports. Nothing urgent.” Darius lifted his head, golden eyes already heated. “Then we have hours.” They used every one of them. The claiming was unhurried and thoroughly competitive. Ronan pulled her on top of him first and guided her down onto his c**k with both hands on her hips, watching her face the entire time. Kael moved behind her, chest pressed to her back, one hand gently circling her throat while the other stroked her c**t in slow, devastating circles. Darius knelt beside them and offered himself to her mouth, fingers sliding into her silver hair with open possession. They still competed—each one adjusting his touch, his pace, his words to pull stronger reactions from her than the others. When she came the first time, trembling and crying out, all three of them groaned as if the sound belonged to them equally. They switched without rush. Kael took her next, eyes locked on hers, moving with controlled intensity while Ronan and Darius kissed and stroked every part of her they could reach. Darius finished the morning by laying her on her back and thrusting into her with long, deep strokes while the other two held her open and whispered praise against her skin. By the time they finally left the bed, the sun had moved across the floor and Selene’s body felt heavy and perfectly used. They dressed her together, as they always did now. Ronan laced her soft leather pants with deliberate care. Kael settled a dark tunic over her head and smoothed it down her sides, palms lingering. Darius knelt to buckle her boots and looked up at her with a slow smile that promised more the moment the council meeting ended. The midday council was short and almost boring in the best way. Territory reports. Supply numbers. A minor dispute between two outer farms that Kael settled with a few quiet words. No one mentioned war. No one questioned the three Alphas sitting with their Luna between them. Afterward the four of them walked the high walls again. The forest looked the same, but the air no longer carried the constant scent of approaching enemies. Scouts reported only ordinary pack traffic and the occasional lone wolf requesting permission to cross. Ronan stopped at the northern tower and pulled Selene back against his chest, chin resting on her shoulder. “I could get used to this.” Kael stood on her other side, fingers brushing hers. “Peace is useful. It gives us time to make the territory stronger.” Darius leaned against the stone on her right and let his gaze travel over her slowly. “It also gives us time for other things.” Selene felt the familiar heat rise under their combined attention. Even in full daylight, with warriors moving on the walls around them, the three of them still managed to make her the only thing that mattered. They returned to the chamber before the afternoon was half over. The door locked. What followed was slower than the morning, almost lazy in its thoroughness. They took turns with her and then shared her, competing in quiet ways—who could make her moan longest, who could leave the most lasting marks, who she looked at when the pleasure peaked. By the time the light began to fade, Selene lay in the center of the bed once more, thoroughly claimed and perfectly content. Kael traced idle patterns on her bare hip. “There’s a request from the southern farmsteads. They want their Luna to visit and formally accept their loyalty.” Ronan’s arm tightened around her waist. “We’ll all go. Short trip. Two days at most.” Darius kissed the soft skin just below her navel. “And then we come straight back here. I’m not finished with peacetime yet.” Selene closed her eyes between them and smiled. The war was a memory. The rejection was nothing but a pale scar. What remained was this—three ruthless Alphas, one shared Luna, and as many quiet, competitive, thoroughly satisfying days as they wanted. Outside, Nightfall stood strong and unchallenged. Inside, the real work of forever continued one slow claim at a time. The southern farmstead visit lasted exactly two days. Selene rode between her three Alphas the entire way. The outer wolves who had once only heard rumors of the shared Luna now saw her with their own eyes—protected, openly claimed, and treated with the same careful intensity the three males had shown since the beginning. Formal oaths were given. Supplies were checked. A small celebration was held under open sky. Even there the competition never fully stopped. At night, in the private room the farmstead had prepared for them, Ronan pulled her into his lap the moment the door closed and kissed her until she was breathless. Kael undressed her with precise hands while Darius dropped to his knees and put his mouth between her thighs without waiting. They took her slowly and thoroughly, still adjusting every touch to draw stronger reactions than the others, until she came apart between them twice before they finally let her rest. They returned to the fortress on the third morning. Life settled back into its new, quieter rhythm. Mornings often began with lazy, competitive claiming. Afternoons were for pack business—territory reports, training, the occasional minor dispute. Evenings almost always ended behind the locked door of the Alphas’ chamber, where the three of them continued to share her with the same focused hunger they had shown during the war, only now without the shadow of death hanging over every moment. One evening, nearly a week after the farmstead trip, Selene stood on the private balcony outside their chamber and watched the sun drop behind the trees. Kael came up behind her first, wrapping both arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder. Ronan joined on her left, fingers linking with hers. Darius leaned against the railing on her right and simply looked at her for a long time. “No reports today,” Kael said quietly. “No challenges. No movement on the borders.” Ronan’s thumb brushed over her knuckles. “Good.” Darius’s voice was softer than usual. “We could get used to years of this.” Selene leaned back into Kael’s chest and felt the other two shift closer until she was surrounded on all sides. The three bonds inside her pulsed in quiet harmony. The rejection that had once defined her was nothing but a distant memory. In its place was something solid and permanent—three ruthless Alphas who had gone to war for her, won, and then chosen to keep her at the center of their peace. That night they claimed her again under the low firelight, slower and deeper than before. Ronan held her first. Kael followed. Darius took her last while the other two touched and kissed every part of her they could reach. By the time they finished, Selene lay in the center of the bed, thoroughly marked and perfectly content, listening to the steady breathing of the three males who had refused to let her go. Outside, Nightfall slept under a clear sky. Inside, the Luna of three Alphas closed her eyes between them and smiled. The days without war had only just begun.
