Chapter 1

692 Words
I was walking home from school. I am a senior in high school and I just want to be done with it. I don't have any friends and I don't make friends that easily.  I did have a best friend but she left me to be popular. Apparently that is more important than being my friend. I wasn't 'cool' enough to be her friend.  Anyway, enough talk about her. My name is Ellie Davis. My parents are workaholics. Always traveling for work. I had a nanny watching me growing up, but she didn't like me much. After I turned 13, she left me to watch after myself. Walking up to my front door, I opened the door only to realize that someone else is in the house. "Hello? Who's here?" I call out. "Great! You're home!" Mom comes out of the kitchen. "Mom? What are you doing at home? I thought that you were supposed to be home next week?' "Well I and your father need to speak with you. We have something to tell you". My mother looks a little nervous. "What is it?" I ask. I was curious as to what she wanted to tell me. "Come. Sit."  She leads me to the couch in the living room. I sit down and dad comes in and sits next to mom. "I'm just going to say it. We are moving to California. All of us. I and your father got a promotion and it is in Missouri. The town is called Arrow Rock. We leave at the end of the week." I look at my parents and nod my head. I get up, "I will go start packing. And I able to stay home to pack?"  Mom nods her head in approval. I go up to my room and a few tears escape my eyes. I continue to pack for the rest of the week. Once Friday approaches we will leave. I don't know how I feel about that. I'm not ready to leave the place I grew up knowing. Not that I have the best memories. But this is where all my memories are. I don't want to leave. **** Friday **** It is now Friday. The day we leave. I am sad to be leaving this place but I am ready to leave now. I have had several days to warm up to the idea of leaving.  I am slightly excited to leave. Who knows, maybe I can make a friend or two. I hope. When I wake up that morning I get dressed, brush my teeth, and do my hair. I walk downstairs to the kitchen. Mom and dad are packing up the last couple of things in there. I help them pack them up. Once that is done, it was time to leave. Dad is driving the truck holding all of our stuff and mom is driving her car with me in the passenger seat. It will take a couple of days to get there. We currently live in Arizona. It was a quiet couple of hours. I ended up falling asleep. ****** Jason's Pov****** My name is Jason Taylor. I am the Alpha to the Arrow Rock pack, ironically in the town Arrow Rock, Missouri. My pack had been around for hundreds of years. It is said to be one of the oldest packs to have ever been around. We are also the strongest pack around.  When werewolves turn 16 they can shift into their wolves. But they are also able to find their mate. A mate is what humans call soulmates. Your other half. You can't live without them I did not find my mate at 16. Or 17, 18, and so on. I am now 21 and mateless.  My sister found her mate at 16 right after she shifted. It is my beta. Werewolves have ranks. I am alpha the leader of the pack. Then my second in command, my beta, Jonathon, or as he likes to be called, Johnny. Johnny and I grew up together and are best buds of all time. Then we have the gamma which is the third in command. My delta is Jacob. he is Johnny's brother. My other best friend. When I get my mate, she will be the luna. My equal. The alpha female.
