Ric Pov
"f**k!" I grunted as I got up from the cold ground. She was good. I didn't think she had the strength left to fight back. I almost wish she knew that I meant her no real harm but I guess she did me a favor. I didn't really know what I would with her after I had my fun with her. My father would definitely want her blood after everything she had done.
"Riccardo," I heard my father call. I quickly got up and composed myself to meet him.
"What is it," I said. I could see Luca coming up behind me looking concerned.
"How are you not on top of things Ric," I heard Benito's bastard son say. Paolo was never really recognized by the family until he turned twenty and made a name for himself in the underground. He was good with a gun and a hell of a fighter. Benito and he rarely had a bond but now he was family so in the past year we took him in and treated him as such.
"Paolo," I answered. "I thought you were going back home to see to your father's affairs."
"I didn't think it would take this long to bring his killer to their mercy," he said. "And with your warehouses in ash, well it looks like you aren't stopping the threat against our family either."
"What?" I shouted.
"Son, all of our warehouses were burnt to the ground moments ago,"
"b***h,"
"Ric, all of the shipment had already been moved and sent back to Sicily and some of the clients," Luca added. "So no real loss."
"No real loss," Paolo interjected. "No real loss, he is being played and made to look like a fool."
"Son, we have to strike back,"
"We don't even know who to strike father," I lied. "I will take care of it and let's not forget I am in charge and need no one to step out of line. I will figure this all out and bring our enemies to their knees." I had a lustful memory flash in my mind at those words but I quickly focused on the task at hand.
"Luca come with me," I walked away leaving a very angry Paolo.
"What are we going to do Ric,"
"I NEED TO FIND HER NOW!" I was pissed and now even more concerned about what I was going to do with my little vixen.
Seven Hours Later
"No news," Luca said as he stepped into the penthouse.
"She is a phantom. No one knows anything about Ace but she seems respected by the community," I thought to myself."
"It doesn't make sense boss," Luca said bringing me back from my own thoughts. "She has no enemies and the guilds don't want to go against her."
"You tried to put a bounty on her," I said harshly.
"I just need info or her capture, no-kill," Luca answered quickly.
"I don't know what it is about her but we need to pay whatever price to know all of her secrets," I said.
"Will do," Luca left, and again I thought of her. Her beautiful smile and mesmerizing face. Her unique light amber eyes. Those haunted me and drove me wild. She didn't need to say a word or touch me to seduce me. She just needed to stare at me with those mysterious eyes.
Four Hours Later
I decided to go out and get a drink. I had never been to this rooftop bar before but I knew it was low key and exclusive. I wanted to drown my sorrows in whiskey.
"Bar or private lounge?" the hostess asked.
"Bar," I said. As much as I wanted to be alone I figured I'd see if I got any bites tonight. No less than five minutes and I had a willing victim.
"Hey handsome," the redhead said.
"I raised my glass," she took that as an invitation to move closer to me.
"So, what's your name?" I didn't really want to answer her but I did.
"Riccardo," I answered.
"Nice, My name is Crystal," she said. We spent the next ten minutes talking, mostly about her. I didn't know why but I felt the weirdest feeling. I felt like I was being watched but this place was not that packed and I had a good view of all angles from my seat. I wasn't tipsy or drunk so I knew I could see any potential threat or so I thought.
***Boom***
*pop pop pop*
Loud crashes and gunshots suddenly filtered the room. I looked around and pulled out my gun but smoke started to fill the room. We were outside but it wouldn't disappear. I couldn't see and I knew I was in deep s**t. I went for cover behind the side of the bar and shot a few men who were heading towards me. Suddenly, more appeared and they ran quickly towards me but before they made any more steps they fell to the ground. They were all shot in the head. I looked around but couldn't see who was doing it. People were screaming and shouting. They cleared the room and I was left alone with these would-be assassins. I looked around once again and that's when I saw her coming out of the shadows.
"Ace?"
"You seriously need to watch yourself," she sounded upset.
"Why are you here,"
"I'm not sure," she said softly. " I want to kill you and I know I will, one day but there was word of this attack tonight so I thought I'd-," she didn't finish her sentence.
"Help me out?"
"I HATE YOU," she said loudly. "I'm going to make you pay."
"OH, I hate you too," I smirked. "And I can't wait."
"And if anyone is going to kill you," she began. "It's going to be m-." I walked up to her and stopped her from finishing that sentence. I kissed her long and hard. She yanked on my hair and I pulled hers. I lowered the kisses to her neck.
"Someone is trying to kill you,"
"Other than you?"
"Yes, please just take care of yourself,"
"You care?"
"No, but we are enemies and I know your family will come for me but until then stay alive for me," I grabbed a fist full of her hair and pulled her down to my lips. She moaned in my mouth. This woman was driving me crazy. What the hell is wrong with me?
