Dropping Like Flies

Ric Pov "We have a lead," Luca said as he passed my office. "About the assassin or Benito," I said. "Maybe both," Luca dropped a set of pictures on my desk. She was wearing a wig and had contacts on but I knew it was her. I can't deny that the thought did cross my mind. She is an assassin and she just recently stumbled into my life. One of my family members was dead and associate of ours were dropping like flies. It couldn't be a coincidence but I was thinking with my d**k, not my brain. "She was at the Viper Room the same night Benito was killed, wearing a disguise," Luca began. "Doesn't look good." "I know, I know," I grabbed the photographers and looked at them closely. I met her that night. I f****d her that night. Had she killed him right before we had s*x? I was getting pissed. "Find her! NOW!" I shouted. Luca took a team and began to search for this mysterious woman I had met. Who I only know as Ace. Ace Pov Work had been light. I hadn't left the house in 3 days. I didn't know exactly what to do with myself. I didn't want to randomly bump into Riccardo or any of his men. I didn't want to see him even though I knew I did. I wanted to stay home until I was sure he had forgotten about me. I had too many secrets and too many issues to push past. My baggage wouldn't allow me to live a normal life let alone fall in love. I wasn't even sure if I felt anything more than lust, to be honest, but sometimes I wondered. Having a nice home with a family. Feeling safe and finally being happy. Did I want that? Could I have that? I didn't really have a childhood. It was cut short. Then I became this, a monster, a shadow, someone who killed for no good reason other than because I was good at it. It was the family business after all. "I got a new job," Jax said loudly waking me up from my daydream. "Solo gig? Look at you," I laughed. "Well, I am always support but I figured I can do the big jobs now too," I nodded in agreement. "Well, don't cause a scene," "Come on, why not?" "Because that's not our style and we do clean jobs," I said. "We don't bring attention to ourselves." "Right," Jax whined. He went to the fridge and got a beer and handed me one too. "Thanks," I said as I took it from his hands. "We have a problem?" Michael stammered into the kitchen. "Someone picked up the Moretti hit." "The hit on Ric-," I choked on my beer. "I mean Riccardo." "Yeah," Michael looked at me with concerned eyes. "Who?" "Not sure," Michael said. "Looks like a new player who doesn't know or want to play by the rules." "He crosses us and does this job he's going to learn a valuable lesson," which was you never cross me, EVER." "What are you going to do?" Michael asked me. "Stop him," I got up and went to go get changed. I wore all black and didn't bother to change my appearance. I just wanted to shadow Ric and make sure he was safe. I wasn't going to let this i***t newcomer kill him. I got in my car and headed to every warehouse I knew belonged to the Moretti family. Ric was nowhere to be found. I knew it was a long shot but I asked around to some contacts and I found out where his main office was. I set myself up in the building closest to it. I was angry and amused that there was such an easy shot to be taken from my vantage point. Someone could easily kill him. "What an i***t," I said to myself. I watched him drink and drink. He looked upset. He shouted at a few people here and there. I didn't see anyone else around. I don't think our newcomer has the skills or knowledge to get this close to Ric. He might just wait until he leaves and has him somewhere more open. It took Ric seven hours to finally leave his desk. He left the building and got in his car so I obviously did the same. I knew Ric would feel someone following him so I just stayed as close as I could. I also knew how to disappear in a crowd. He finally stopped at the Viper Room and parked his car in their parking lot. He went through the back entrance. How interesting that he shows up here. Where it all began. I stayed outside watching the entrance. It took thirty minutes but finally, a suspicious character came out of a black SUV. He went to the trunk of his car and pulled something out. By the looks of it, he was going to poke a hole through Ric's tires. "Amature," I said to myself. I grabbed my silencer and attached it to my gun. This was going to be so easy. I got out of my car and slowly stepped into the parking lot. Of course, this i***t had his back turned and didn't even bother to check his surroundings but still I crouched down behind cars so he wouldn't spot me. I looked around and made sure no one was around. I didn't care about the camera's point at us but I still kept my back turned to them so they wouldn't catch my face. I got as close as needed and shot him in the back of the head. I began to think about what I would do with this dead body now. I could call a cleanup crew but I then got a better idea. I dragged him over to Ric's car. I broke into his car and dumped the body into Ric's trunk. I thought it would be funny and also nice to show him I cared. I did kill the man who wanted to kill him. I went back to my car and put away my gun. I walked back to the parking lot to clean up the blood when all of a sudden. "Hey there," I heard Ric's smooth harsh tone. "Fancy seeing you here." He took no time in slamming his lips on mine. His kiss was hard and rough. I brought my hands to the sides of his face but soon I felt them get heavy, as I also felt a sharp pain in my arm. "Ouch," I said as the needle went into my skin. "You son of a bi-."
