Becky’s heart raced as she turned slowly, her eyes widening in terror. Standing in the doorway was none other than Zev, his imposing frame filling the entrance, casting an eerie shadow across the room. His piercing green eyes narrowed as they locked onto Becky, frozen mid-motion, the suspension letter still in her hand.
