"Who are you?" Thalia asked, her voice shaking slightly as she watched the guy approach her slowly.
He didn’t answer right away, just kept walking closer, making her take a small step back. Her instincts told her to move, but her feet felt glued to the floor.
“Don’t be scared. I don’t bite,” he said with a slight grin, his voice calm but teasing.
Thalia narrowed her eyes. "Who are you?" she repeated, more firmly this time, trying to push down the nervousness bubbling inside her.
Finally, he stopped just a few feet away, brushing a lock of messy hair from his face. “I’m Cody,” he replied, his tone casual, as if they were having a normal conversation and not one where she was clearly on edge.
