Chapter 23The night was nearly over, I could sense daylight hanging just behind the nearest peak. I ran without thinking, without caring where I was going, as long as it was away from myself. In a shallow cave barely able to contain me I spent the day, shivering in cold and fear and hunger. It was worse for having tasted of her, for knowing all that she was.
