Chapter 13I recovered in time, graduating from my sick bed to short walks in the wooded area around our cave. Justine proved to be a good woman, and a fair cook. Dovan was entirely a different man than I had supposed him to be. He was wholly paternal, giving and caring. He often carried me back to my bed when my ambitions took me further away than I had strength to return.
