CHAPTER TWENTY TWO To get to the southern tip of Lederman Park, Avery had to take Embankment Road south along the park. As Longfellow Bridge drew closer, she could see that traffic had nearly come to a standstill heading east into Boston. Many people were out of their cars and pointing down toward the park. Similarly, two police boats were visible on the Charles River, close to the spot where she was headed. The pointed tip of the park was dotted with shrubs and trees.
