Chapter 65: Sam’s POV

Sam’s POV

I wake up from the weirdest and most wild dream I have ever had.. Well dream might not be the word…

Nightmare.

In the nightmare Alexis was abducted, and I had turned into an animal of sorts.. Almost like a giant wolf? That isn’t possible though..

That’s when I realize I am not on my bed. I don’t recognize this room or the bed.

I then hear voices and people talking. I quickly close my eyes to hear what is going on, and what is being said.

I overhear Caitlyn. She is telling them everything I thought was my dream, but a little more from her perspective.. So this wasn’t a dream? Alexis has been abducted? I did turn into a wolf?

I then hear a woman with a very soft spoken and sweet voice ask, “How old is Alexis? Does she have her wolf yet?” Wait what? Her wolf? Alexis is a wolf too? Or is going to be? What??

“No she doesn’t have her wolf. Why?” I hear Caitlyn ask with confusion in her voice.

I could sense more than just the two in the room. Where am I? What is going on?

Then the woman responds again, “We just weren’t sure if she was Samuel’s mate or not. Since it seems her disappearance is what triggered his wolf to descend..” that’s when I stop listening again. Why is she calling me Samuel? And she’s talking like she knows me? More importantly, why is everyone here worried about me and my wolf, when Alexis is missing? Not one person is looking for her?

Anger boiled up in me making me release a growl I have never heard before as I stood up. This growl got the attention of every person in this room. Only 4 of the 12 I recognize.. My parents, Caitlyn, and Maverick.

“What is going on? Who are you??? Someone needs to do some quick explaining. And why is everyone here when Alexis is missing?????” I yell and add “all of you are here, yet she is missing? No one is looking for her? Someone took her! They are getting farther and farther away from us as we sit here and do NOTHING! They could be hurting her!” I say angrily and let out an other loud growl. Where is this growling coming from? But it seems to gain control of everyone.

Caitlyn walks up to me, fear in her eyes. She reaches out for my hand but I rip it away. She did it again and had a good grip. I start to calm down, but only a little bit.

She goes to explain some and then said that the lady whose voice I had heard, needed to explain the rest.

The woman approaches me cautiously. Not really in fear of me hurting her, but more that she is worried.

This woman is beautiful. She is taller than most females, probably around Alexis’ height. Her skin is tan, a similar shade like mine. Her hair is wavy brown, and she has green eyes. As she approaches me I see a man edging closer to her. Almost like he is ready to protect her at any given moment. He is really tall, muscular, short brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. If I didn’t know any better, I would think I am related to him…

“Samuel, I think you better sit down.” The woman suggests.

For some reason her voice comforted me, so I did as she suggested. I notice my parents had slid closer to the door. Where are they going?

“My name is Amara, and this is my husband Quentin. We are the king and queen of the werewolves.” She introduces them and pauses.

King and queen? King and queen of werewolves? What??

“I know this is all so confusing. Yes the animal you transformed into, was a werewolf.” She pauses again looking at her husband. He grabs her hand, to give her support and strength.

She then went in to explain how they are my biological parents. That there was danger and they needed to protect me. So when a witch came to their castle begging for an ingredient for a protection and prevention spell, they made a deal with her. They would allow her access to the ingredient ONLY if she agreed to also protect their son. That after she gave birth to their son they sent him to grow up in this human village with two of their best and most skilled warriors. My parents? The ones who raised me were not really my parents but were hired to raise me and keep me safe??

I just sit here in shock. This is a lot to take in.

“So let me get this straight. You are saying I am a werewolf? The parents who raised me, are in fact NOT my parents? That you two are? And that I’m some kind of prince of werewolves???” I ask in complete disbelief.

“Yes. We were receiving threats on you, much like Alice was receiving on both Caitlyn and Alexis. She wanted to keep them safe, which is also what we wanted. We had planned on your 18th that you’d be strong enough to protect yourself if we couldn’t.” She says and pauses

Wait.. Alexis is a wolf and a witch??? What?? Did she put a spell on me? Is that why I’m so obsessed with her?

“No. Alexis didn’t have any powers until we went to stay with our dad. There are some who believe you two could be mates. Most do not transform into their wolf until their 18th birthday. You turned when you found out Alexis was kidnapped.. Which is a clear sign of love and protection, which could seem like you two are mates.. Mates are like soulmates but for wolfs, just a lot different..” Caitlyn educates me quickly with a little anger in her tone. Can see read my mind?? “No I can’t read your mind, but part of my magic abilities is I can feel how others feel. Which helps me know what you could be thinking or feeling.” She adds.

I feel so confused. This is all so much.

“Why are we in here?” I ask after a moment.

“For you and the towns protection. We couldn’t risk you being out there with the humans and turning into a wolf. Our world must remain unknown to the humans.” Quentin the man who is my supposed father states.

“No. I get that. Why aren’t we out there looking for Alexis? We need to find her. If something were to happen to her, I will rip apart the ones responsible, bone BY bone!” I say, the last part came out in a darker more forceful voice.

“We will find her. We just wanted to control this situation first. We can only deal with one thing at a time.” Amara, my mother states.

I nod.

“Ok. Well let’s go. The longer we wait the farther she gets from us.” I command.

“Let’s head back to the girls’ house. I have my men there too. They will be able to help.” A man who looked much like Caitlyn demanded. “By the way, my name is Lucian, I am Caitlyn and Alexis’ father.” He says extending his hand towards me.

I shake it “Sam, well I guess Samuel? I’ve only ever known Sam. I guess it isn’t a far change to Samual.”

We go into Alexis’ home and I go straight to her room. I miss her and want to smell her scent. It was faint but still here. I took a deep breath in and filled my lungs with the strawberry and lavender scent. I let the breath out and went to join the group in the other room.

They went over a game plan of where to search, and where each group will search. As we went outside I notice a strange yet handsome man I have never seen standing there.. He smells of chocolate and fire? Weird…

My supposed parents growl and their guards surround them. What is happening? Who is this?

Caitlyn and an other guy ran out and got in front of him. Almost as if they know him and are guarding him?!

“Can you all go back inside? Or head out? He is one of Alexis’ friends. We would like to talk to him. He could be of help?” Their dad politely asks.

My supposed parents left with the guards. All that was left was their dad, Caitlyn, Maverick, the man who ran up with Caitlyn, 2 of their dad’s guards, and this mysterious man.

“My name is Gentri. I am one of Alexis’ friends from her dad’s pack.” The one guy states. I let out a growl, “I am here solely on finding her too. She is like my little sister and I want her safe.” He adds and it made me calm down.

Now everyone’s attention went to thin pale mysterious man. One that had put my ‘parents’ into a defensive position.

“Should we go inside? Or?” He asks smug.

“How about we go into the woods?” Caitlyn suggests.

We all glance around and I shrug.

As we head into the forest I can’t help but eye this man. Who is he? Why is he here? Who is he to Alexis? Why did everyone act like that with him here?
