Chapter 71: Rescue

THIRD PERSONS POV:

As the plane lands near the vampire castle, they prepare a game plan. Dimitri had drawn a layout in detail from landing to getting into the dungeon. He shows where warriors will be positioned. Soon all 5 were in agreement and reach an understanding.

Dimitri has the plane land 10 miles away, down the mountain, just out of where concern would be to the warriors. The door opens and out pours the 5 who are on board. Dimitri scopes out the area. The 3 guys quickly transformed to their wolves.

Caitlyn did not. She walked up to Dimitri, “I decided since you cannot mind-link, that I will stay human. That way I can talk with you, and still communicate with them through mind-link.” She states.

Dimitri nods and looks over at the 3 wolves. “Let’s go find Alexis!” He exclaims very determined, as Caitlyn climbed onto Maverick’s back.

They climb up the side of the mountain, in all the blind spots that Dimitri knew of. Once they reach the top they lay down on their bellies. Making them unseen due to the shrubs and trees that border the castle.

Lying there they can admire the castle.

It is a huge castle, made of dark grey bricks. There is a moat around the castle. A giant brick bridge at the front. They can see some guards on the top of the castle.

Dimitri points which was their signal to start running to the castle.

They make it to the end of the bridge when 10 vampires guards met them. All with weapons in hand and fangs exposed. Each of them are average height and slim with muscular builds. All are pale with black short hair.

“Where is Alexis?” Dimitri asks.

No one answers him.

Dimitri looks at the trio with him and nods.

They start attacking the warriors. While attacking the 10 on the ground were being attacked, 5 from the roof jump down.

They tried to shoot their weapons but they were swiftly killed.

As this was all happening, the guards on the inside blocked the giant wooden front door.

As soon as the 15 were taken out, the 4 charged at the door at the same time.

Making a loud bang, and the door broke open.

Once the door was open, a picture of chaos was unfolding in front of them.

There was a lot of screaming and crying from random human servants and vampires. Many running around trying to retreat to a different area. During that chaos, more guards made their way to the group.

All of the guards have weapons. Most never got a shot fired, a few did, but thankfully missed the group. They continue to fight as they follow Dimitri. The dungeon was to the right of the main entrance.

As the last guard in the room was killed, they run to the wooden door that leads to the dungeon, but it is blocked again from the inside.

Dimitri tried to body slam the door, it barely moved. Sam tried, barely moved.

The 2 then ran full speed at the door and broke it open. Knocking the 5 warriors that were on the other side, down the cement stairs.

Causing more screaming as the 5 warriors fell, and the 5 of the group made it down too. They work together to swiftly kill the 5 warriors.

At this moment it becomes quiet..

A little too quiet.

Dimitri looks at Sam, then Dimitri gestures for them to continue down this one hallway, filled with cell after cell.

It is eerily quiet. That’s when they start getting attacked by more warriors that were hiding in a cell. The one warrior sliced open Dimitri’s shirt and cut his chest. At that exact moment, Sam lunged and snapped the warriors neck. Dimitri looks shocked but gave him a nod in appreciation.

They both can now smell a very small hint of strawberry and lavender.. It is barely noticeable over the musty smell.

They step over all the dead warriors and stop outside of a random cell.

This cell seems to look nicer than the others. It had furniture and a bed?

Dimitri reached his hands out and grabbed the bars. Ripping the cells door right off the hinges and tossing it to the side.

As they step inside both Dimitri and Sam notice the scent of Alexis has gotten stronger…

Alexis’s POV:

I am so scared. What is going on?? We are still hiding in the tub. My mom is holding me tight. I can hear fighting and grunting down the hall. Whatever is coming, is getting closer! They ARE coming for us. I will plead for them to not harm my mom, but they can have me. I will sacrifice myself for her freedom. It was my fault she got abducted in the first place. I need to protect her. I wish the cell didn’t block my powers. I could protect us both, or even just get us out of here!

That’s when I hear them stop outside of my cell. Oh no! I start shaking and crying. I don’t want to die. I don’t want my mom to die. I can feel my mom’s tears hitting the top of my head as she is crying too. Her grip becomes tighter around me.

I hear the cell door get ripped off and thrown. Oh no! Whoever is here, is extremely strong and powerful. Please, please, please, let my mom stay safe!

Then nothing. Silence. Maybe they left?

“There you are my little dove.” I hear Dimitri say in a smooth yet sexy voice.

I turn and look in shock. Dimitri is here?

I see his face turn to relief and a little smirk appear. Making my heart skip a beat.

I jump out of the tub and run at him. As I wrap my arms around him, and he embraces me, I feel him jolt as if in pain. I push back and see his shirt is cut open and his chest is oozing black blood?! No!!

“MOM!!!” I yell in panic.

I turn and see my mom is already next to me. I rip off his shirt and my mom starts examining his cut.

“We need to get him out of here, now! His cut is laced with what looks to be wolfsbane. Don’t touch it, it can harm both wolves and vampires.” My mom stated just as I notice Caitlyn and 3 wolves.

As I notice them I hear Dimitri coughing and gagging ad he falls to the ground.

I could feel the tears in my eyes. He can’t die. He can’t!

“MOM!!!” I yell again.

“Alexis, we need to get him out of the dungeon so I can treat him. I can’t down here. They have it so no one can use magic or any powers down here.” She informs me as I go to help grab him off the floor.

“Don’t touch him. If you get that on you, it could kill you!” She yells.

“I don’t have my wolf yet, and I can’t let him die!” I say sobbing.

At that moment a wolf runs off. Where is he going? He then runs back in, in human form. Sam?? Sam is a wolf????

He goes over and as he went to pick up Dimitri I yell, “NO! There is wolfsbane on him! It could harm you too!”

Sam just looks at me and swoops up Dimitri off the ground. I couldn’t help but stare at Sam’s body. He was so muscular and strong, and now being so selfless and saving Dimitri??

He runs up the stairs with Dimitri’s body growing lifeless.

As we reach the top of the stairs I see his dad.

“What happened???” He yells in panic.

As Sam lays down Dimitri on a rug, my mom kneels down next to him. She closes her eyes and starts chanting and moving her hands above the cut.

I drop to the ground next to them. Sam pulls me into him, moved the hair out of my face, and kisses my forehead. I look up at him through my tear filled eyes and could see he was also hurting. Not physically, but emotionally. He also had tears in his eyes.

That’s when I heard Dimitri gasps for air. I crawl to him fast and grab his hand, and kiss the top of it. He wipes away my tears with his other hand and then rests it on my cheek.

He then slowly sits up while grunting in pain, pulls me in and kisses me so hard I could see stars.
