Chapter 45: Self Exploration

Today is the day…. I’m also anxious for our class with Crystal today. School yesterday was a lot better. Caitlyn and I both agree that the empty spot in us from before, feels full, or complete now. School was smoother, I finally feel like I fit in and belong here now. More of the students smile at me or said hi. Whereas before I would get dirty looks or ignored. This was a nice change.

School went by fast today. I have been ignoring Eric ever since Gentri talked to me about what he had said. I spent a lot of today talking to Talia and Kiko. Both are juniors like me, but Talia is 18. She had turned 18 in December. So she’s been telling me all of the different things that could happen, and how to be supportive. They are also helping me throw a small party for Caitlyn tomorrow night. I want to do something nice for her. So they have helped me plan it all. Well with the help of Isabella. Kiko definitely has the eye for it, just like Isabella.

After school the two came with me to meet with Isabella. I only have 30 minutes before I have to head to my class with Crystal. While Isabella and Kiko are running on and on debating and comparing ideas, Talia and I are talking about boys. She still hasn’t found her mate. But she is one of the only ones in our grade to have their wolf. Her mate also might be in an other pack.

I look at my phone when the timer starts going off. “Ok guys, feel free to continue. I have a class to head to. Wish me luck.” I announce as I hobble out the door. It’s been 2 weeks, but I still have a few more weeks before I can hopefully get out of this cast.

I met my dad and Caitlyn down in the lobby. They both look at me and smile, and we head to the green house. Crystal has said she wants this week to be dedicated to working on finding ourselves. We will be digging deep. She requested our class today be in the greenhouse because she said being around nature helps you become one with yourself. Which I already know to be true, I love nature.

Dad opens the door and the 3 of us go inside. I am blown away and start looking around. Wow this place is HUGE! So many plants and flowers. Absolutely beautiful. Towards the middle Crystal is sitting on the ground. She looks up at us and motions for us to join her on the ground.

She looks at my dad after we all sit down and asks, “so what can I assist you with today, Lucian?”

“Alexis has been experiencing some powers lately. I wasn’t sure if you could give us some answers on if they are witch related, or what could be causing them.” He explains.

She looks from him, to me. Her eyes felt like she was looking into my soul. “I can discuss some stuff now, the rest will be after class, with just Alexis.” She stated, not taking her eyes off of me.

Shit.

“Very well. When she was very angry, her eyes turned black, she had an aura that made one of my top warriors fight the urge to bare his neck to her, and her left palm was lined with fire.” He said making me feel embarrassed for getting so mad. Caitlyn grabs my hand and smiles at me.

“The black eyes could be multiple things. Her wolf could be trying to come early. But I think you would sense the wolf if that were the case..” She explains looking at him and then back at me. She knows. She knows! “It could also be an evil, dark magic. Since she was mad when it happened. It could also be an old magic trick some powerful witches process. Where they can turn negative energy into positive energy. Also when witches have black eyes it could be a sign that they hold great power and wisdom.” She pauses to let us all absorb what she has just explained.

Everyone looks at me and then back to her.

“The aura could also be a sign that her wolf is here. But again, you would have noticed this by now. Or it could be an aura she was seeping out when she was mad. Some witches do have auras. Some weak and not noticeable and then some more powerful and noticeable. So it could very well be the witch side of things.” She states while still staring at me with peak interest.

“Clearly the fire is a witch thing. She was angry and her powers followed that feeling. That is something that will need to be watched and contained. We don’t want you to start harboring negative energy, that can fester into turning your soul dark.” She stated. I gulped.

I could feel myself physically shrinking..

“Oh! And before I forget. When Alexis was attacked and left to die on a tree. She was somehow able to talk with me.. Any idea?” He asks curiously.

“Do you mean like a mind-link?” Crystal asks. .

“No. It was like she was standing in front of me, talking to me. I heard her voice in front of me. NOT in my mind.” He explains.

“I have known a few witches who have this power. It a form of voice projecting. She was able to visualize you, locate you, and then send her voice to call for help. Without training, that is impressive.” Crystal states staring at me in fascination.

He nods accepting everything she has said. Says, “thank you!” Shook Crystal’s hand, patted my back and left the room.

After he left Caitlyn spoke, “I also have some questions or concerns..”

We both turn our attention to her. Crystal gestures for her to continue.

“Well so I’ve always been able to feel what others are feeling. Lex always assumed I could read minds, but it’s more of like feeling energy..” Caitlyn trails off.

“Yes. A few witches have that power that you contain, including your mother. What is the issue?” She asks confused.

“Well lately it’s been strong. Some moments I can feel like I can tell when someone is lying or has evil intentions. It’s like their body sends off feelings and they have a red or black energy. The ones who are seem pure have a white energy surrounding them. This just started after the ceremony.” She seems unsure of it as she explains.

“Sounds like you are able to read emotions and now energies of those around you. Which can be exhausting, but both are very good powers to have. They are great strengths for a future Luna to have. Being able to know who is anxious, while having the ability to be able to calm them. Being able to see who is lying or has evil intentions, can help protect yourself and your pack.” Crystal explains with such pride.

Caitlyn has tears in her eyes.

I grab her hand. “What’s wrong?”

She closes her eyes and took a deep breath, “I’m just scared for tonight. I’m getting my wolf. It will be confirmed if Maverick is my mate, or not.. I’m just feeling super overwhelmed.” She was trying so hard to hold it together. She’s always been the strong one out of the two of us. I wrap my arms around her until I could feel her breathing return to normal.

“You are a strong girl, you are showing great potential for being a strong witch, and you will be a strong and powerful wolf. I know the unknown can be scary, but it is also exciting. Not knowing the out right exact fate, can give us a rush of adrenaline. Right now the only thing we are going to do today, is meditate. I want you to meditate and search deep inside yourself. . Find that girl. Cling to her.” Crystal states powerfully.

We took some deep breaths, close our eyes, and continuing our breathing. Soon everything feels dark.. I can’t see anything, but I am remaining calm. I look around for anything that could help me see. Nothing. So I just started walking. I could hear a noise.. Almost like a soothing humming. So I start to follow that sound. Soon I could see a little light at the end of this path. As I got closer the humming became a little.. off..

Soon the once soothing humming ended, and was replaced by a sinister humming. I start to feel the hair on my skin raise up. I stop. The person was not far from me. Their back was to me. Their hair is brown, long, and curly black and looks similar to mine. The person must of felt me near, because they stopped humming. I became frozen in fear. I couldn’t move. I was screaming at myself on the inside to run, but I couldn’t.

She turns around slowly..

My heart is beating a million times a minute..

She looks like me.. Only evil. Her face look like one of horror movie monster, her eyes are as black as the night, and she starts to grow an evil smile. It sends chills down my spine. She starts to run full speed towards me. Just as she was about to grab me, someone from above pulls me up and out.

My vision goes clear.. I can see the lights from the greenhouse. That’s when I see I’m laying on the ground in the greenhouse. I’m drenched in sweat. Trying to catch my breath. I notice that it is not just Caitlyn and Crystal in here anymore. Multiple people are in here, soon my dad and Isabella push in through the crowd.

My dad looks at Crystal with fear in his eyes, and she looks equally as terrified. They both then look at me. He quickly clears everyone out.

After everyone is out, and it’s just the 5 of us, my dad shuts the door and everyone gathers around me and look at Crystal.

“We have a problem.” Crystal states, with a hint of pure fear in her voice.
