Chapter 64: truth revealed

Third person POV:
Alexis is still no where to be found.
It is getting dark, as it is around 7pm.
A small private plane lands, containing Lucian, Gentri, and a handful of warriors. Lucian had left Isabella back home to keep the flow of the pack going.
Gentri was home early due to the king canceling the training and sending everyone home, due to a person emergency.
Gentri is just happy that he is able to come with and find his best friend. He is anxious, worried, and overall pissed.
They arrive at the Shaw household in 2 black SUV’s.
They all start to get out as Caitlyn and Maverick meet them outside.
“Hey dad. Thanks for coming. And Gentri I’m sorry to hear about training, but I’m glad you are here.” She says gently as she hugs them both. She is a mess. Her skin was pale in comparison to her bloodshot eyes.
Maverick looked equally a mess, probably since he can feel everything Caitlyn is. One of the perks and cons of having a mate.
They all went inside the small house.
Lucian is looking around, noticing how small but homey the house that his girls grew up in felt.
“Ok so please start from the beginning, please don’t leave out anything from the morning until now.” Lucian commands.
Everyone in the room became still and quiet.
Caitlyn went through everything.
Starting with Alexis meeting up with Sam while she was asleep.
How the 4 went on a run and then to the gym.
About how they left Sam at his house and he kissed Alexis’ forehead and ran inside his house.
How they got home and Alexis had showered and went to read.
Apparently Sam came over and during this time she and Maverick fell asleep.
How Sam was only there for 30 minutes or so. He left to go play video games at his friends.
How Alexis apparently went to the store to get a charger, and then a few hours later is when she and Maverick woke up.
How when she woke up she felt something was off.
How her wolf then pointed out Alexis was gone.
They searched everywhere for her.
How when coming home from the store they had ran into Sam, who was coming to see Alexis again.
How she was going to try convince him to come inside to talk to him, but Lilly her wolf said to go deep into the forest.
How when she told him what had happened he turned into a wolf. He isn’t even 18 yet. He will be in a few months.
How his wolf is bigger than Mavericks, a reddish brown wolf.
How his parents reacted. How they came with and then shot him with a tranquilizer. They weren’t sure how to get him to calm down. Especially since the reason he was so angry was because Alexis was abducted.
After he was down he turned back into a human and they wrapped him in a blanket and carried him home.
That they now have him locked in this special room they have in their house.
The room was silent.
Lucian has a concerned look on his face and at that moment he demands, “Caitlyn, take me to this Sam’s house, right now.”
Caitlyn looks confused, “uh. Yes. Ok.”
“Gentri and Maverick come with me. Everyone else, stay here.” Lucian orders.
Out the door the 4 of them went. Caitlyn leading the way holding Maverick’s hand. He was trying to help comfort her in anyway he could. His skin contact and scent generally helped.
They reach Sam’s house and Lucian pounds on the door.
Sam’s dad opens the door. He looks from Caitlyn to Lucian and then at Gentri and Maverick. Then begins looking inside, he then began nodding and gesturing at them to come inside.
Once inside the door was quickly shut and locked by a giant man. He then stood in front of the door.
Caitlyn’s POV:
Dad wanted to go to Sam’s house. I’m not sure why. Maybe just because he turned to a wolf? Is it because he isn’t 18 and got his wolf? I don’t know.
We get to the house and dad almost broke down the door pounding on it.
I can feel my heart pounding so hard I feel like it is going to come right out of my chest.
That’s when Sam’s dad opens the door. He looks at me, then my dad, back to me, then at Maverick and Gentri. Stood for a second, then looks inside. He looks back he nods and gestures for us to come in.
Odd. This is weird. Something is definitely off here…
Once inside a giant man appears behind us then proceeds to shut and lock the door, then stood blocking it.
What the f**k? Are they going to hurt us? I start to panic. Maverick squeezes my hand. I take a few deep breaths.
Sam’s mom then appears and leds us to the room where Sam is locked inside. It’s silent. Is he dead?? What is going on?
That’s when I noticed more muscular men.
What is going on?
They open the door and gesture for us to go inside.
Once inside we noticed the room is bigger than we expect. It almost looks like a loft. Although it is dim, it looks decent.
In the far corner is a bed Sam is sleeping on. I can hear him snoring. That’s a relief. He’s not dead. Good. There is a small bathroom, and a living area.
The door and windows are covered in metal bars. Weird. Are they locking us in here with him because they know Maverick is also a wolf???
That’s when we hear someone clear their throat from behind us. We turn around see there is a handful of people in this other seated area.. Weird.
They turned on the lights and that’s when we noticed both Quentin and Amara sitting down, looking anxious and worried. Everyone starts to bow and I just stand there trying to figure this out. Maverick is pulling at me to come down and bow. I’m still frozen in thought, I can’t move.
“Wait. You’re telling me that Sam” I quickly blurt out, pause, and gesture at the sleeping Sam. “Is Sam your son you were talking about?? Wouldn’t that make Sam the prince of werewolves? That’s why his wolf was so big and how he changed so fast even thought it was his first time? That’s why you’re here? Isn’t it? Oh my God.” I start spiraling. This is all so much to process.
That’s when Amara walks up to me and grabs my hands. “Yes sweetheart, you are right. Samual is my child. He just doesn’t know anything about any of this. Which is why I had special darts made for when he first would turn. I gave Gloria and Sebastian these to hide and use. That way he would fall asleep and we could get here to explain everything to him. We also created this room so he cannot escape. It can only be opened from the outside. Which he should be waking up soon. I’m glad you are here. With your power of being able to send soothing and calmness to those around you, it would be helpful and appreciated... He is going to be very mad. He is going to feel hurt and betrayed.” She states gently but her voice was filled with hurt and worry.
Shit.
I quickly bow to them. Causing her to laugh. “Sweetheart you are fine. I’m not all about the royal pleasantries. And this is a unique situation we are currently in. I did not find you rude in anyway.” She says reassuring me as she pats my hands and goes back to sit down. She then gestures for us to sit down.
“Although I heard some of the story from Sebastian and Gloria, I would love to hear everything from you, Caitlyn. Please elaborate on what went down. Feel free to include anything from today that involves Samuel. We have the time” Quentin ask me.
I repeat the same story I just told my dad not even an hour ago. As I finish I could see them conversing through mind-link I assume, and also processing everything I have said.
“How old is Alexis? Does she have her wolf yet? We are just trying to understand everything.” Amara asks genuinely curious.
“Alexis is 17. She just turned 17 on New Year’s Eve. So just a few months ago. No she doesn’t have her wolf. Why?” I ask, confused.
“We just weren’t sure if she was Samual’s mate or not. Since it seems her disappearance is what triggered his wolf to descend. If she doesn’t have her wolf, there is no real way to know. But it seems it is the biggest contributing factor. Samual wasn’t supposed to get his wolf until his birthday this summer. Which means he got his wolf early. It is rare but can happen. Usually for extreme reasons.” Amara continues.
Just then we hear a loud and commanding growl from the other side of the room. We turn around and Sam is standing there trembling.
