Chapter 70: Confrontation

DIMITRI’S POV

If I am right, and Alexis is being held hostage… All hell is going to break loose. I know that smell.. I’ve been locked up down there before. But how could they abduct and take Alexis?

She is as sweet and innocent as they come.

I can feel the anger building up inside of me.

And if they even misplaced a hair on her head..

A low demonic growl came out of me, causing everyone in the plane to look at me.. s**t. I forgot I wasn’t alone.

“Sorry.” I say throwing my hand up in the air as I avoid eye contact.

I could have been there already if I didn’t feel it was right for us all to go together.. For some reason I felt like I needed to be with this man while we save her.. I can’t explain it..

After I apologized everyone went back to whatever they were doing, all except one. Samual.

Who is this Samual? I had never heard of him until today. He believes since he’s a wolf he automatically just wins? That Alexis is his? Ha. The likelihood of me EVER allowing her to slip out of my life is slim to none. Unless of course she really didn’t like me. I’d have no choice. She has to be willing to be with me. I could never ruin something so pure and sweet.

I could still feel him looking at me!

So I turn to look at him and yell, “what the hell do you want, dog boy?” Which probably wasn’t the best choice of words, but he was pressing my buttons.

He jumps up and stands towering over me. I jump up and mimic his stance. Although he is taller than me, I am not intimidated by him in the slightest.

“What did you just call me?” He asks growling.

“I called you a dog boy.” I repeat myself poking his chest.

He growls and tries to grab my neck, which I easily dodge. This only caused for him to become more angry.

He lunches at me, and I quickly move out of the way.

Maverick and Gentri quickly got in the middle and held him back.

Causing me to clap.

“Well this has been fun.” I say mocking him and sit down.

He shook them off and said he was fine. He came and sat next to me.

“The only reason you aren’t dead, is because we need you to help us find Alexis. Once we find her, you can just leave us alone.” He says through bared teeth trying to be intimidating still.

Causing me to scoff.

“What?” He asks.

“You really are ignorant. You know that?” He starts to growl lowly. “You don’t need to attempt to intimidate me, it won’t work. You don’t scare me. The only thing that scares me, is Alexis’ wellbeing.. The only reason I’m even here on this plane, is because something in me said it was important for the BOTH of us to find her. TOGETHER. I could have been there already if I went on foot.. But something deep inside of me, told me I needed to go with you, that we needed to find her together. And you can try to throw me out of your life, but until Alexis tells me to leave her alone for good. I will always be here.” I inform him.

He sat in silence for a second.

“I still don’t understand something… She’s a witch and a wolf. Supposedly we are both the heir’s to our own kingdoms. You the vampires, and myself the werewolves. Why would the moon goodness choose her to have 2 mates, and both be kings?” He asks sounding very confused.

“I REALLY hope you are not trying to say she put a spell on us…” I say trying to control my anger at his ignorance.

“You’re saying the thought hasn’t crossed your mind? She doesn’t even have her wolf yet. How are we both so drawn to her? I didn’t even have my wolf when I started to feel drawn to her..” he trails his sentence off going into thought.

“Considering she didn’t even understand her powers, and no one even knew who you were until today, why would she put a spell on you? Me? I can understand, I’m mysterious and sexy as f**k. The heir to the vampire kingdom. You were just a boy she grew up with. And you’re going to say you didn’t have any feelings towards her until she came back? Because that’s when she had her powers.” I reply. .

His face was angry at first, and then annoyed, and then perplexed.

“I guess that is true. I just don’t know anything about witches or any of this stuff. I literally just found out I’m a wolf and now the heir and everything else today. I always assumed if witches were real they’d be old and ugly. Also casting all kinds of spells. Alexis isn’t even 18 yet.. I’ve actually felt some sort of connection to her since we were kids. I never thought anything of it. I remember even as kids I’d smell the softest and sweetest smell of strawberries when she was around. I loved strawberries. We had our own strawberry patch out back. So the scent always made me feel comfortable. Around her birthday though. The strawberry smell was stronger and had a hint of lavender..” he says shrugging still in thought and now lying back against the seat with his eyes closed.

“The smell of lavender to me, reminds me of my mom and childhood.. She was killed by wolves one day when she left the castle. She wanted to go visit her family. She wasn’t even a mile out when she was killed. Rogues.” I pause trying to not get angry.. “They didn’t know who she was, they also probably didn’t care. Vampires disgusted them. I was probably 5 or 6 at the time.. But I remember she always had lavender incense burning.. She loved the smell. The smell always lingered in her hair and on her clothes.. So the scent of lavender, makes me feel comforted in a similar way that the strawberry scent does for you..” I share with him, now also going into deep thought. I have never told anyone that story. Yet somehow it felt easy to just open up and tell him..

“I’m sorry about your mom, that must have been hard to grow up without her. Even though the mom who raised me wasn’t my real mom, I still can’t imagine growing up without her.” He replies in a soft and comforting voice.

I just nod.

That’s when I noticed we are almost there.

I sit up straight, “we are almost there. If you are against fighting or death, just stay on the plane.” I state quickly in a commanding voice.

“Like hell I’m sitting on this plane waiting for you to save the day. HELLLLL NO! But I will be shifting. I have only shifted once, but the strength I could feel is unmatched.” He states..

I nod. “Very well. We will need to be quiet and fast.. We will come to the side gate. It is a straight shot to the door for the dungeon.”

“Can’t we just go in the front door? And if something goes wrong, we can just fight?” He asks.

“I appreciate your belief in us, but no way are the two of us getting past 20-60 trained vampires.. It’s a death trap.” I state shaking my hair no.

A voice comes up from behind, “it wouldn’t be just you two, I’m coming too. And I will shift as well. I’m a trained warrior. I literally was at the royal kingdom to test to see if I can be a royal guard once I graduate high school. I’m NOT sitting on the sidelines while I could be helping save Lex.” Gentri says extremely straightforward. There was no changing his mind. He has been close with Alexis the entire time she was at her dad’s pack. I nod my head, Sam still looks skeptical.

“We are coming too. I’m not waiting around while I can help save my sister. And Maverick is coming too. He’s my mate and also a trained warrior. That’s 2 trained warriors, a newer wolf with some witch powers, with two strong heirs.” She looks around and shrugs, “Let’s go in with a bang. They need to hear us coming.” She says deviously. I smile back.

Truth be told, I like this plan better. I thought with a giant dark smile on my face. I don’t care if I have to kill every single person in my way, as long as I can protect Alexis.
