Chapter 63: Sam’s POV

SAM’S POV:

Today really has been the best day of my life! I’m so glad I was able to get Lex’s number. With her agreeing to sit down and talk, things felt better. Especially after the workout. When I kissed her forehead I felt a rush of desire go through my body. So I quickly ran inside.

I took a shower but all I could think about was her. The way she looked, the sound of her voice, the way she looked at me with her beautiful hazel eyes, the way she smelt, and the way our bodies reacted to skin contact. I decided to pleasure myself in the shower thinking of her. One day I hope it would be me pleasuring her…

Once out of the shower I quickly got dressed and back over to see her. My hair was still dripping wet. I didn’t care.

As I approached her she didn’t even see me coming. She was so consumed in her book. I stopped and just admired her for a second. Watching her read.

That’s when she noticed me and started to stare off into space.

“Uh.. Lex?” I said pulling her back to reality.

She looked at me and started to blush. f**k. She is so hot when she blushes.

“Sorry. I was lost in a train of thought.” She said embarrassed.

Which made me laugh. She was definitely checking me out. Which is ok, since I was just doing the same thing.

“Can I sit with you? I can’t stay long. But I wanted to see you again.” Part of this was true, part of it a lie. I could stay all day, but I’m worried about becoming too attached. Yet I can’t stay away from her.

“You just saw me not even 30 minutes ago!” She said laughing at me.

“Longest 30 minutes of my life!” I replied laughing. She’s not wrong. It wasn’t even 30 minutes ago, but I had a strong desire to be near her.

We sat and talked and joked for about 20-30 minutes and I decided I needed to leave. The scent of strawberry and lavender were stronger than ever, making me crave the scent. I just wanted to pull her into my arms tight and now. But I can’t.

“I’ll see you later?” I asked as I got up to leave.

She nodded making a curl go into her face, which she tucked behind her ear. “Yes. I’ll see you later Sam.”

Even hearing her say my name made me feel a rush of heat inside of me. I ended up just going back home. Figured I could read up some of my course material for when we go back to school next week. I’ve been working hard on all of my classes including my advanced placement classes. I don’t want to fall behind during break. So I’ve been studying for a few hours a day. Some of my friends joke that I’m a nerd, but I don’t really care. I love learning.

I get home and head straight to my room. My parents aren’t very good at communicating or being loving. They also don’t force into my social life. It’s weird. Everyone else’s parents are very active in their lives, academic and social. Mine, not so much. They never have been. But they have always kept a roof over my head, food in my belly, and gave words of encouragement and support when needed.

Once in my room I start studying but I can’t focus. I’ve reread this same line 15 times and I haven’t processed it. All I can think about is Alexis. I’ve always felt drawn to her, even as kids. But with her leaving and now back, I just want to be near her… I don’t want to be away. And I really don’t want to think about how she’ll be gone again soon. She’s only back for a week. I need to find ways to be around her as much as possible before she leaves. Maybe after graduation I can come see her, or she can come back for a little during the summer.

I want to go see her again.. But I can’t go back yet. I need to waste a few hours before going back. I can’t study or read. Ah. I’ll go over to Tyler’s and play some video games. We haven’t yet this week yet.

I jog to Tyler’s and knock on the front door. His younger sister answers the door. She’s 12 or 13.

She turns and yells “TYLER!!!” And then walks away.

Tyler runs up yelling at her for not letting me in.

“What’s up bro?” Tyler asks as he opens the door.

“Want to get your ass kicked in some video games? I have a few hours to spare, and wanted to come make you cry!” I joke egging him on.

He starts to get pumped and jumping around, “let’s go! I got a new football game too.”

After a few hours of games and joking around I got up, told him bye, and left.

It’s only been a few hours, but I don’t care anymore. I’m going back.. Maybe they’ll let me stay for the movie night. I mean there is an other guy there. Maverick. So maybe? I’ve tried texting her but no reply. Not sure if she’s reading or what.

I’m now on my way to their house when I see Caitlyn and Maverick. They are walking towards their house with a look of worry. This look makes my stomach turn to cement.

I approach them cautiously asking, “Hey guys. Where’s Lex? I’ve been trying to text her but haven’t heard back. I know you’re going to have a movie night, so I just wanted to see her again before that.”

Neither of them are saying anything. Making me anxious. Both look afraid or worried, I couldn’t pin point the exact emotion that their faces are showing.

“Where is she?” I ask again, anxious for the answer. Where is she? Why are they looking like that and looking at me like that? Why are they not saying anything???

Caitlyn slowly approaches me softly saying, “come with us inside.” But then she stops. Almost like she was lost in thought. Then she adds, “Hey actually come with us. I think Lex is on the trail.. Come with us?” She gestures and motions for me to follow.

Maverick looks confused, Caitlyn looks worried but hopeful? I’m not sure what is going on. But if Alexis is this way, I’m going this way. So I shrug and follow them. After about half of the path we took yesterday, they turn off the path and into the woods. This is getting weird. What is going on? That’s when she stops. I walk past them like why did you stop? I turn around and they are both looking at me.

“What is going on? This isn’t the same path. WHERE is Alexis?” I yell getting angry. I can feel a weird bubbly feeling inside me.. Almost like burning lava is in me as I’m getting angrier and more worried.

That’s when Caitlyn nods at Maverick, and he steps back. He then gets on the phone to call someone. What are they doing? Why are we here? Who is he calling?? And where the f**k is Alexis??

“Sam I need to tell you something.” Caitlyn states trying to remain calm.

I could tell she was trying to be considerate of whatever was going on. But that only made me more mad. Why are they avoid the ONE question I have?

“The ONLY thing I want to know, is where is Alexis?” I yell in frustration. My body is now shaking and the burning, lava sensation was spreading. What is going on? I have never felt like this before. I can’t even stop the anger. It just keeps growing.

I can see the fear and confusion in Caitlyn’s eyes. Maverick who was not paying much attention to us while on the phone, is now staring at me with a questionable look.

“We don’t know. She went to get a charger a few hours ago, and never came home. We fell asleep after we worked out. When we woke up and she was gone. Her phone is off. She is gone…” I couldn’t even listen anymore. Gone? She’s gone? Where? Did the same people who took her mom take her? I swear if someone lays even a finger on her, I will rip them apart with my bare hands!

That’s when I felt the anger, shaking, and burning transform into straight agony and pain. My body was changing. What is going on? Ahhhh! I can feel my bones breaking and shifting. My clothes are being ripped to shred.

That’s when everything stops and I’m standing on 4 legs. On 4 legs? What??? I look at Caitlyn who looks completely in shock or fear, I can’t tell. What happened? What am I? I don’t understand!

Then I notice Maverick throw the phone at Caitlyn, and he turns into a giant black wolf? What in the actual f**k is going on?

“There is a lot for you to learn, a lot you do not know. But you need to remain calm, as we can’t alert others of your existence.” A deep yet comforting voice says.

That’s it. I’m going crazy. Or maybe I fell asleep again after eating Mexican food.

“You are not going crazy, and this is not a dream. My name is Zeus. I am your wolf. You were not supposed to get me until you turned 18. But with so much anger and worry, I was sent here now. You must calm down. It will all be ok. Everything will be explained.” He calmly informs me.

Just then I see my mom and dad run up with Caitlyn, both in shock. Why would Caitlyn get them? What is going on?

I then felt a little poke on my arm. No, my leg? I look down and see a little dart in it. I look at my parents and see my mom has shot me with an arrow? What?

That’s when everything starts to go dark and I fall to the ground.
