He realized that she had been speaking. “I’m so sorry,” he said. “I’m afraid my mind wandered for a moment. What did you say?” She laughed “It wasn’t important. Where did it wander to?” He met her languid, limpid eyes. Honesty was so often effective. With her knee still resting lightly against his leg, he judged that they were at the right stage. “I was imagining making love with you,” he said softly, and waited for her reaction.
