My name is Gary Cramer—that is, unless I’m working on a story for www.harringtonreport.com, in which case my name might be almost anything. I’d spent six months covering the Occupy Wall Street movement and so far I had nothing to show for it. It had seemed like it was going to make a great story—maybe I’d even get a book out of it, the way I did with that online cheating ring I’d stumbled onto when my first year of grad school at NYU. When my story in the online student newspaper got picked up and rereported by the New York Times, it had changed everything.
