Chapter 8:That's called kissing

638 Words
Nina noticed the change in his gaze, but before she could speak, someone behind him said, “Mr. Parker, should I call a doctor for you?” “No need.” “Miss, why are you still here?” Lucas’s assistant peeked in and saw Nina. Lucas hadn’t kicked her out. Letting her stay and soak in the hot spring was already special treatment—none of the other women ever got that. And yet she was still here. “You’re calling a doctor? "I am,” Nina said immediately. Lucas glanced at him, he then shut up and stepped out. “You’re a doctor at such a young age?” Lucas took off his coat and stepped closer. There was a faint smell of alcohol on him. He looked slightly irritable, tugging off his tie roughly. Nina stepped forward and reached out to help him. Lucas didn’t move. He let her do it. She had beautiful hands, slender and graceful. “I skipped a few grades in school and did an accelerated master's program. I’ve been working for a year now,” she said softly. “You must’ve had good grades.” Lucas had only heard gossip about her bad reputation. He hadn’t asked about anything else. Nina smiled faintly. “Where are you feeling unwell?” “My back. Old injury.” He’d gotten it while serving in the military. Every time it rained, it flared up. “Then… I’ll need to remove your shirt,” Nina said, gathering her courage. She reached out and undid the top button of his shirt. The collar opened, revealing his collarbone. As her fingers moved downward, Lucas suddenly caught her hand. “Mr. Parker?” She looked up at him. “You’re in such a rush?” “I’m not,” Nina replied honestly. She did want something, but right now, she just wanted to treat his injury. “You were engaged to Bryan Carters for five years. He never touched you?” He was direct. Nina felt embarrassed. “You never even slept together?” She didn’t answer. Lucas remembered how clumsy she’d been that night, how the sheets were stained. It had seemed impossible to believe. “Did he ever even kiss you?” Bryan had always despised the Walker family, and her. Aside from a kiss on the cheek at their engagement, there had been nothing. “You know nothing, and you dare come to me,” Lucas said coldly. “I can learn,” she whispered. To prove it, Nina grabbed his shirt and tiptoed to kiss him. Lucas didn’t react. She felt defeated, her face flushing red. But then... He grabbed her waist, pulling her in for a kiss that was intense and dominant. His lips were thin and soft, but hot to the touch. Nina’s legs turned weak. She tried to push him away but accidentally brushed against his firm, heated body and instinctively pulled her hand back, resting against his shoulder and panting softly like a tame, clingy little kitten. He lowered his head, nibbling gently at her neck. Heat surged. “Learned it now?” “That’s what a real kiss feels like.” Nina blushed again. “Your legs… how do they feel after the hot spring?” “Much better.” She thought that by this point, something would finally happen, because she had seen the desire in his eyes. But to her surprise, Lucas buttoned his shirt back up, face calm as if that passionate kiss hadn’t happened at all. “It’s late, Dr. Walker. You should head home.” Her face paled in embarrassment. “Besides,” he added coolly, “with the way your body is right now… I don’t feel the slightest desire.” Nina’s legs gave out again, aching even more than before.
