“How so?” Lucas Parker’s tone was casual.
“In high school, there were already rumors about boys getting expelled for fighting over her. When the Carters family got into trouble, she immediately pushed Bryan Carter to get engaged. She’s not as innocent as she looks.”
“She’s just a little girl.”
“She’s already working she's not a little girl anymore.”
Lucas didn’t respond.
When their eyes met, Nina Walker’s heart skipped a beat, but the next second, he looked away.
“I’m heading to my room,” Lucas said and got up, walking toward the elevator.
Two men in black suits, likely bodyguards or assistants, followed him.
Nina knew he wasn’t easy to approach. If she missed this chance, who knew when she’d see him again? She bit her lip, made an excuse to her friend, and shamelessly rushed into the elevator just before the doors closed.
Lucas had a cold face, sharp features, and his gaze toward her was equally indifferent.
Nina was panting slightly. “Mr. Parker…”
“You shouldn’t come looking for me again,” he said.
She recalled what he had said a few days ago and still felt cold all over.
The elevator rose slowly and stopped at the 8th floor.
This was where the luxury suites of the resort were located. Lucas strode into a room. Nina bit her lip, hesitated, but still followed. The two men blocked her way.
“Miss, have some self-respect.”
“Let her in,” Lucas said.
As soon as Nina entered the room, the door was closed behind her. Lucas took off his suit jacket.
“I’m here to talk to you about the check,” she said.
“Check?”
“The one from that night…”
Lucas stepped closer. He carried a faint sandalwood scent, looks cool, dangerous, and mysterious.
“What, you think it wasn’t enough?” His voice was low and seductive, the kind that sent shivers down her spine.
“No,” Nina shook her head.
With a man like him, if he meant to seduce, few women could resist.
Perhaps sensing her anxiety and hesitation, he curved his lips slightly and bent down to whisper beside her ear, “You came to me just to talk about that night?”
Nina stiffened. Being seen through made her feel embarrassed.
“I…”
“I heard you’re a doctor. Shouldn’t you be busy working? "Showing up here, I doubt it’s just about the check,” Lucas said as he sat on the sofa, looking at her like she was an amusing toy.
Nina was still young. Her little tricks were nothing in the eyes of a man like Lucas, seasoned in the business world.
“I want… to ask for your help.”
“That’s not how you ask for help,” Lucas said, gesturing for her to sit next to him.
Nina hesitated, but eventually sat down.
It was a two-seater sofa, very close.
“I’m a business person. You want my help, hmmm....what can you offer in return?”
Nina had nothing.
The only thing of value might be her body.
“I… can offer myself.” Her voice trembled.
Lucas chuckled. His hand slid to her waist, fingers brushing lightly.
She was beautiful, her waist slender and soft to the touch.
The world didn’t know:
Lucas Parker had a weakness for a small waist.
It was summer. Her clothes were light. She could clearly feel the calluses on his fingers rubbing against the sensitive area of her waist, sending tremors through her body.
She gritted her teeth and endured.
Then he whispered in her ear, “You think you’re that irresistible? That one night with you left me craving more?”
In that instant, she felt like she’d fallen into an ice pit.
