Well, it made sense.
A man like Lucas Parker, wealthy, powerfu person, what kind of woman couldn’t he have?
Why would he bring trouble upon himself for her?
Nina took a deep breath. “I was being presumptuous. I won’t bother you anymore.”
She stood to leave.
But Lucas’s hand was still around her waist. She couldn't get up and fell back onto the sofa, pulling a muscle in her thigh. The pain made her inhale sharply.
“Still hurting?”
Before she could answer, he had already lifted the hem of her skirt.
They had seen each other naked before, so it wasn’t exactly new. But she still flushed red, trying to cover up.
But the bruises, angry, purple-red marks on her inner thighs had already caught his attention.
He thought back:
That night, he had been rough.
He had lost control, hadn’t realized it was her first time, and showed no restraint.
The next day, he had deliberately taken her horseback riding. It was her first time doing that too. No wonder her legs hurt.
He hadn’t expected her skin to be so delicate, so fair that every bruise stood out starkly.
It almost seemed like her body was reminding him: You were a beast.
His fingers gently pressed her inner thigh, massaging the bruises.
His strength wasn’t harsh, but Nina was sensitive. Her soft gasps and teary eyes were hard to ignore.
Tempting.
“You’re still walking around like this?” His voice turned hoarse.
“I’m fine. "It’s much better now.” She quickly pulled her skirt back down. “I’ll leave now.”
Lucas suddenly said, “Soaking in a hot spring helps with injuries.”
Nina paused and looked back.
Lucas had turned his back to her, lighting a cigarette.
What did he mean?
Was he… asking her to stay?
Even Lucas’s assistants were surprised by his actions.
That surprise was on par with the time he brought a child home out of nowhere.
Lucas had his own private hot spring here that exclusive to him.
Nina didn’t have a swimsuit. She entered naked. The warm, milky water wrapped around her body, making her feel relaxed and comfortable.
Her body was mostly submerged, with just her head resting on the edge. She sighed.
She had wanted to seduce Lucas.
But she had never done anything like that. Her little tricks were child’s play in front of him.
She had made a fool of herself.
People say women are complicated, but in her opinion, men’s hearts are like needles at the bottom of the ocean, it's hard to understand and always hurting you.
After soaking until her body was flushed and warm, she returned to the room.
Lucas wasn’t back.
But she didn’t want to leave just yet.
She meant to wait a little, but the comfort of the bath and the warm room lulled her to sleep on the sofa.
Lucas had gone out to meet a client and had dinner. By the time he returned, it was past eleven.
When he opened the door to the suite, he saw someone lying on the sofa.
Nina stirred from the sound. She looked at him, dazed and confused, her eyes still sleepy.
She had a soft, gentle beauty. Even her hair was obediently draped over her shoulders and chest, trailing into her clothes.
Lucas’s gaze moved downward look at her slightly open neckline revealing the edge of a black bra.
Her fair skin contrasted sharply with it.
Pure and seductive.
It reminded him of that night.
Lucas’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly.
