Oliver had a look of concern on his face as he looked at the entrance to where she had disappeared into.
"Is she fine?", he found himself asking Lala, whose smile faltered.
"She will be. It's probably probably a minor stomach upset. She'll be good"
He found. "Shouldn't you check up on her or something?"
"We can't leave a customer waiting," she said sweetly, circling her notepad with the head of her pen.
"I don't mind."
She frowned. "Wouldn't you like to order, sir?"
"I would love to, actually," he paused. "Which is why I want you to call my waitress who just left"
Lala's face grew hot in embarrassment. "She's married," she blurted out without thinking.
Oliver frowned in surprise. "Excuse me?"
"I'm sorry, sir. I'll go get her now," she said, smiling pleasantly but fuming within.
She was glad she had told him that. She loved the look of surprise on his face when she had said that.
"Your customer is waiting for you," she told Eva, who was still feeling dizzy.
Eva groaned. He head was pounding, and the last thing she wanted to do was face Oliver, the man who would not stop pestering her.
"I'll be in a minute,"
Lala hushed and walked back to her service station.
"What would you like to order?" Eva asked Oliver when she had returned to his table.
"Juat a plate of Tuna Tomato pasta with chicken breast," he said, observing her while she slowly scribbled down his order and went to get it.
The day went by in its usual blur of not just servings and cleanings sometimes but also of dizzy spells and blurry vision.
She went to pick up David from school and was walking home slowly with him.
"Mama, are you awright?", David asked, feeling her neck for her temperature.
Lightening flashed in the distance, and the air became chilly.
"Mama is fine, baby," she said weakly and kissed his forehead.
"It's about time wain, mama," he said in his baby accent, and she nodded, dreading the thoughts of walking in the rain with David, who easily caught a cold.
"Yay," he said, clapping. He loved the rain, as much as he hated bathing.
She laughed at the irony.
"No, we won't walk in the rain, baby,"
She kept walking with him in her arms, talking about this Kira, whose name had become a common word in all his sentences.
A car drove beside them and stopped just beside her.
She kept walking, ignoring it as she was not in any mood to talk to anyone.
All she wanted to do was just to sleep.
The car honked, moving slowly beside her, and she hugged and stopped.
The windows rolled down to reveal Oliver.
She groaned in annoyance.
"Hey, Eva," he called.
"Hi," she bit back.
"Can I drop you off? It's about to rain and I-"
"No, thank you. Listen, I don't know if you know this, but I am married"
"Woah. Chill sissy. I can tell. Is he your son?"
She calmed down and shot David a small smile. "He is"
"He is beautiful... as beautiful as you", he said, and she rolled her eyes.
"Ms Erica says I'm handsome. Beautiful is for Kira", David who had been looking at him, corrected.
Oliver was shocked but intrigued by the boy's retort.
"Okay, I'm sorry. You're a handsome young champ", he said, and David smiled.
"I'm Oliver. What's your name?", Oliver said, coming g out of his car to talk to them.
Eva was not happy about this, but David was interested.
"I am David," he said in his baby accent. "And I'm two," he said, trying to demonstrate the two by lifting two fingers but failing at it.
Oliver laughed and patted his head.
"Wow. You're a big boy"
David beamed. "Really? Mama calls me her baby"
"Don't mind your Mama. She doesn't want you to be a big boy"
Davis was pleased to hear that.
"This car is beautiful," he said in his bay accent, and Oliver raised his brow.
"You think so?", he asked the small boy who was running his hand across the beige BMW.
"Don't you know that? Why did you buy it then?", David asked in his baby voice with a frown.
Oliver could not hold back hid laughter. They kept talking, and David warmed up to Oliver.
Eva panicked as a thunder clapped, taking David's hands.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your pleasant meeting bit we have to leave. It's about to rain"
"Eva, let me drop you off," he pleaded, but she remained resolute.
"No. We can find our way home."
"Yes. And wrapped would enjoy the rain", David chipped in with his baby accent.
Oliver, however, was determined. "Do you really want to walk home under the rain with your son? If you can take it, at least consider him. He could catch a cold"
"I know that. I'm not an irresponsible mum", she bit back defensively, and he sighed in defeat.
"I didn't mean that. I can see from how amazing your son is. I just wanted to help"
"Mama, I want to enter his car," David whispered loudly to his mother, who was turned red because Oliver had heard him and was smiling.
"What did I tell you about strangers?"she whispered back to him.
"Not to talk to them, mama, but you talking to him and I follow you," he said loudly, and her face turned red when she saw Oliver smirking.
The thunderclap became louder, and David his his face in the crook of her neck, whimpering. It began to drizzle, and Eva cursed under her breath.
"Fine. This doesn't mean anything informal, Mr Oliver", she said.
"Of course," he said with his hands raised in surrender. "You're married,"
She narrowed her eyes at him and got into the car.
She sat in silence while David and Oliver chattered on and on all the way home.
"Thank you," she muttered to him when he dropped them off at their house.
"Anytime, Eva," he said, and as she turned to leave, he added, "Please let me at least be your friend."
"I don't do friends," she quickly snapped.
She did not have a good history with friends, so hearing him mention it caused her to snap.
"I'm sorry. Okay, can I at least be David's friend?"
"What's your motivation for being friends with a two-year-old?" she asked him quizzically with a frown on her face.
"He's a great kid," he said, ruffling David's hair. "A big champ"
David beamed and turned to his mother with pleading eyes.
"Mama, let him be my friend,"
'Those darn puppy eyes', she groaned inwardly as she was held spellbound by her sneaky son's eyes.
"Okay. I wonder how the friendship would work anyway," she said and got out of his car with David, walking into the building.
"Thank you," Oliver shouted.
"I like your car," David shouted back, causing the three of them to laugh.

Jacob was over the moon with joy. He and his friends were at one of the most exclusive clubs to party.
He had just been promoted.
The auditors had been super impressed with his hard work and had promoted him after the audit.
He laughed around with his friends as they talked.
"Nice to see you finally loosening up, man. I was beginning to think you would turn into an old man with wrinkly face and a permanent frown"
Jacob laughed at Blake's statement.
"I'm glad to see I proved you wrong,"
"Well, you're still quite close. You see, man, it's not that deep. Just loosen up as you work too"
"The bags will make up for the lost fun," Jacob said and gulped down a shot.
"Did you invite Mel here?", Andre asked him, wriggling his brows.
"No. Why?"
"Because she is here!"
