I was becoming anxious as I crawled out the window. The seamstress seemed to take her sweet time with the last minute adjustments to my dress. Already it was past eleven. I glanced back, seeing the chain lying on the floor. My hip and arms still ached, the bruising had long ago disappeared, but the fear hadn’t let me. I almost crawled back into my room, fearful of what would happen if Torrin were to find me gone. I took a deep breath. Erevus was waiting for me. Everyone was depending on me. I had to go. Quickly, I climbed down the sequoia tree and out of the castle gate. Using my enhanced speed, I ran through the trees towards my spot, feeling more myself and free by the moment.
