The King stood as Erevus escorted me back to Torrin. A chair was brought forth for Erevus between my Father and Torrin, leaving me on the other side. I didn’t like that. Torrin gripped my hand as Father leaned over, making soft conversation with Erevus about his kingdom and land. I saw Erevus’s eyes shift to me and then to mine and Torrin’s intertwined hands. I could see the corner of his mouth turned downward. I tried to extract my fingers, but Torrin held onto them tightly, which only made Erevus stiffen.
