For the next few days, Tommy flunked-out as a cop; straight “D's.” Dan recognized it immediately but quickly forgave her. Tommy had become a bottom-feeder; wallowing in her own pitiful self-interests. He attributed it to the break-up of her marriage and prayed it would be temporary; you don't want a distracted partner watching your back; not in the 14th.
Walsh was chewing through the same leads as Tommy; running into the same dead ends.
