This, in fact, was the way it was with any of the things he had so carefully stocked. Food, and medical supplies, machinery and tools, electronics apparatus and wire and multi-function programmable chips, raw materials for the fabrication of unforeseen necessities—he had more than enough for himself if nothing else went wrong in this post-apocalyptic world, but any setback would push him close to his safety margin. After careful review of his inventory, he might be able to donate some things here and there which might be of use to those other survivors. It would have to be on his terms, though.
