Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Eclipse Awakens Elara's POV The silver-masked man smiled beneath his mask. "Hello again... Princess." The title echoed through the Moon Chamber. My heart pounded. "I'm not a princess." He laughed. "Oh..." His crimson eyes gleamed with amusement. "You've been lied to for so long that you've begun believing the lie." Draven stepped farther in front of me. His sword slid from its sheath with a sharp ring. "You'll speak to my mate with respect." The masked man tilted his head. "My mate?" He chuckled. "She's far more than your mate, Alpha." "She's the key to an entire world." Orion roared inside Draven. "Enough talking." The masked man slowly raised his black sword. "I agree." Without warning... He disappeared. My eyes widened. "So fast—" Draven met him in the center of the chamber. Steel crashed against black crystal. The impact shook the floor beneath us. Alpha Alaric shifted instantly. A massive silver wolf lunged into the battle. King Cassian's crimson aura erupted around him. His vampire speed blurred as he struck two Hollow Court warriors before they could reach me. The Moon Chamber exploded into chaos. Ryder and the Nightshade warriors charged forward. Shadowmoon warriors answered beside them. Wolves and vampires fought as one. For the first time in centuries. --- I reached for the practice sword still hanging at my side. "I'm helping." Draven shouted without taking his eyes off the masked man. "Stay back!" "I can fight!" "You can survive." "There's a difference!" His words stung. Because they were true. A Hollow Court warrior broke through the battle line. He rushed straight toward me. His blade flashed. Time seemed to slow. I couldn't move. Fear rooted me to the floor. "Elara!" Lunara roared. "Move!" Vespera shouted. "NOW!" My body reacted before my mind did. Silver and crimson light exploded from my chest. The warrior never touched me. He was thrown across the chamber like a rag doll. He crashed into a pillar and didn't move again. Everyone stopped. Even the battle paused. The masked man's laughter echoed through the chamber. "There it is." He looked almost... delighted. "The Eclipse Power." I stared at my trembling hands. "I didn't..." Lunara stepped beside me inside my soul. "We did." Vespera smiled proudly. "Together." "No." I shook my head. "We." For the first time... I understood. It wasn't my wolf. It wasn't my vampire spirit. It wasn't just me. We were one. One heart. One soul. One power. --- The masked man suddenly slammed his blade into the floor. Dark energy spread through the chamber. The Moon Stone flickered violently. Cracks spread across the ancient crystal. The Council Elder gasped. "No!" "If the Moon Stone falls..." Alpha Alaric's eyes widened. "The bond protecting Shadowmoon will break." The masked man smiled. "Exactly." He raised his hand. Darkness gathered around the crystal. King Cassian shouted, "Stop him!" Every warrior rushed forward. Too late. The black energy struck the Moon Stone. A deafening crack echoed through the chamber. The crystal shattered. Silver light burst through the room like a tidal wave. I screamed as memories flooded my mind. A castle. My mother's laughter. My father holding me high into the air. Lunara running through moonlit fields. Vespera laughing as my father spun me around. Then... Blood. Fire. Screams. A silver-masked warrior tearing me from my mother's arms. My mother's desperate cry. "Run! Save our daughter!" King Cassian's roar shook the chamber. "LYANNA!" The memory shattered. I collapsed to my knees. Tears streamed down my face. Lunara was crying. "Mother..." Vespera sobbed. "Father..." I looked up. Straight at King Cassian. Our eyes met. Neither of us spoke. But in that single moment... Something passed between us. Recognition. Love. Eighteen years of loss. Before either of us could move— The masked man smiled beneath his mask. "Excellent." He looked directly at me. "Now you remember." Then he vanished into black smoke. The remaining Hollow Court warriors retreated with him. The battle... Was over. But nothing would ever be the same again. King Cassian took one slow step toward me. His hands trembled. He looked as though he wanted to hold me. Yet he stopped himself. His voice broke into a whisper. "You remembered her..." Tears rolled freely down my face. "I remembered both of them." The chamber fell silent. Far above... The full moon broke through the clouds. Its silver light poured into the ruined chamber. As if the Moon Goddess herself had witnessed the truth finally begin to return.
