“And you decided bringing him here was the best option?” a deep thick voice growled out, the sound vibrating through my body.
I moan lowly, blinking as I finally opened my eyes. I had woken up earlier, cursing every fate and whatnot that had decided it wasn’t time for me to die yet.
But isreal and another man had barged into the room before i could escape, forcing me to pretend I wasn’t awake yet, while I listened to their conversation.
I wasn’t surprised the man called Alpha was angry Isreal had brought me to wherever this is, and frankly speaking i agreed with him.
I was a liability, an unknown factor. I don’t know why Isreal didn’t just leave me to die.
“Calm down…,” I croaked out, clearing my throat. “You don’t need to shout at him, I will leave.”
The both of them turned towards me, eyeing me in surprise.
“Leave us.” Alpha spat at isreal, glaring at him.
“Alpha, just…”
“Leave.” Alpha gritted out, cutting of Isreal from whatever he had to say. the low growl emitting from him, nearly brought me to my knees.
I whimpered, blinking hard as I placed my hands over my mouth, trying to hold myself from spilling my gut out. I was nauseous, my head pounding as if something was trying to claw out.
Isreal ran out of the room, the door banging hard behind him.
I tried to stand up, gritting my teeth hard at the pain stabbing my chest.
“You smell human, but any other human would be dead by now.” he says, his hard stare boring deep into me.
I stared at him, his deep green eyes so beautiful held so much contempt as he stared at me, waiting for my answer.
“What?” I whispered out. “What the f**k are you talking about. That guy had said the same thing, like we aren’t all humans.”
Shit…, Crawford. Isreal had shot him dead along with the other guys.
Alpha gritted his teeth, staring at me as if trying to peep into my soul.
“Never mind.” Alpha muttered out.
“Who are you?” I asked, trying my best to hide my fear.
Much as I prayed for death, now that I was actually alive, I didn’t want to die.
“Who I am doesn’t matter, what I need to know is how much you saw..” Alpha growled out.
I moan, loudly might I add, blushing in embarrassment before covering my mouth quickly.
“Stop doing that.” I whispered out, gritting my teeth from the pain as I sat upright.
“I don’t know what I saw, just a man defending himself. I promise I won’t tell anyone, not that they would take me seriously, and that is my house.”
“You live behind a dumpster?” Alpha asked me, his eyebrows raised high as he shifted back a bit, taking me in.
I blushed, running my hands through my sticky hair, grimacing at how dirty I probably looked.
Last I saw my hair, it was blonde. But years of being in the street, not bathing, not caring about my looks, I dread to think of the color now.
I stared back at Alpha, my eyes taking in his dark soft hair, slowly tracing down his handsome chilled face, his thick pink lips very inviting. I stare lower, passed his thick muscled chest, down to his thick legs.
I gulped hard, pressing my legs together to hide my arousal.
Alpha wrinkled his nose in disgust, dragging the chair at the far corner before sitting down.
“Are you done staring at me?” he asked, disgust clear in his tone.
“I am sorry.” I mumbled out, staring at my hands in shame.
I know what I am, I don’t know when I found out, but I had always fancied men, rather than women. I preferred hard muscle hands pressing me down.
“What is your name?” Alpha asked me, leaning back against the chair, his hands crossed over his chest.
“Tonic.” i murmur out, looking up at him, and then quickly looking down. His green eyes were too intense, and i couldn’t stare at them for long.
“Hmmm. Listen here Tonic. I don’t know why Isreal saved you, luckily you didn’t see more than you needed to so that is probably why you are still alive. Now, i will drop you at the edge of our borders, from there you find your way. Is that clear?” Alpha asked me.
“Crystal clear. Thank you for not killing me,” I told him.
Gentle knock on the door made me glance up, adverting my gaze from Alpha.
A thick pretty lady came inside the small room, she smiled softly at me, placing a clean set of cloth beside me, before touching my bandage.
I flinch, moving away from her hands.
“Sorry, my name is Clara, the pack doctor. I have been the one treating your injurie for four days now. If I may, can I see it?”
I nodded my head, relaxing my shoulders a bit as she slowly unwrapped the bandage.
“So four days huh,” I say softly, glancing briefly at Alpha.
“Yes, surprisingly you are healing pretty well.” Clara told me. She applied an ointment on my injury, before wrapping it back.
“What is that?” I asked her, nodding at the ointment in her hands.
“Oh this…, it’s my secret miracle cure. In a week time, you should be able to run or do something strenuous. For now, I advise you take it slow till you are properly healed.”
“Thank you.” I told her, smiling a bit.
Clara nodded, turning towards Alpha, before exchanging an unknown look with him.
She left the room, leaving me and Alpha alone.
“Is your name Alpha?” I asked him, “or is that like a nickname?”
“My name isn’t your concern. Now I have a lot to do, stand up so i can drop you.”
I nodded, standing up slowly while Alpha watched me with that his sharp piercing gaze.
He escorted me outside, while I used the opportunity to look around.
We where in an estate of sort, the house where lined up each identical to the other.
A white pick up truck was in front of the house, Isreal and another man in front of it.
Their discussion was cut off at the sight of me, Isreal moving forward a bit, but the glare Alpha threw him, stopped him from moving further.
“Caspian, you don’t need to, I can drop him at the border.” The other guy spoke up, his gaze flickering towards me.
“It’s fine Mark, I have to drop of something at the other side of town, besides news about Crawford should have spread by now, I need to know who knows what. And if we should be preparing for an attack.”
Caspian…hmmm, is that his name? I wondered, staring at his back.
He turned towards me, gesturing for me to get inside the truck.
I turned towards Isreal. “I don’t know you, and frankly speaking I don’t know if I am happy about it, but thank you for saving me.”
Isreal nodded his head, while I entered the car.
Alpha took his seat by my side, starting the car, before driving off.
We passed a lot of the house, stopping in front of a huge gate.
The gate opened up, and then we drove out, leaving the estate behind.
I stared out the window, my thoughts going towards the 70 dollars I had hid behind the dumpster. I hope it was still there, and that someone else hasn’t claimed the dumpster as theirs.
We drove towards familiar part. Alpha drove towards a gas station, before stopping the car.
I turned towards him, whatever I wanted to say dieing on my lips at the glare he threw my way.
“Get out.” Alpha growled out impatiently.
I rolled my eyes, opening the door, before climbing down from the car.
He drove off immediately, almost knocking me down if not that I moved out of the way quickly.
What the f**k was his problem?
I sighed, shaking my head, before beginning the walk back to my sad life.
I don’t know how long I walked, but the slight drizzle told me I needed to hurry up.
I walked faster, smiling in relief as I got to the dumpster. My stuffs were still there. I got to work, opening up my backpack. Inside was a huge folded tapoline. I used it to cover myself.
The rain was heavy now, my body shivering from how cold I was.
I hugged myself tigher, and before I knew it, I was crying hard.
Death would have been better than this miserable life.
