The crisp sound of a slap echoed down the hallway.
My mother-in-law stood frozen, her hand covering her face, staring blankly in shock. It took her a moment to gather her thoughts.
Mason immediately panicked. "What the hell are you doing?"
I turned to him, and seeing the rage burning in his eyes, then I raised my hand and slapped him across the face just like I did moments ago to his mother.
His head snapped to the side, and he covered his face, speechless.
"You... You... You evil witch! How dare you?"
Seeing her son hit, dazed Andrea finally snapped back to reality.
Without a word, she lunged at me, ready to fight.
"How dare you touch my son! You're done!"
Her piercing screams echoed in the building as I calmly faced this woman who seemed to have lost her mind.
