Hilda was looking pale, worn out and tired, she hadn’t eaten since it all started,. Mary looked at her little girl who could have been dead too, by now if God hadn’t really intervened, how the men were caught, how the intelligent girl explained everything that had happened, and how one person in the crowd, who had known them before now helped her out, bought her snacks and quickly brought her back home. She didn’t care what the kidnappers got as punishment, Hilda mattered more. Oh she owed Mr.Boris a lot more than a mere gratitude. She looked at Hilda, she was carrying her little brother who was asleep. She went to get her food. Nissan would bring back the joy which she had lost, of course his name meant MIRACLE, and so would he turn out to be one. They had to move. Pierre could come anytime soon, even if she trusted the police men, anything could happen at anytime, he could send someone else to cause another havoc. She wasn’t proud any longer to call him her husband, he had finally become the demon whom he had always wanted to be. She heard a knock on the door, and then a cloud of fear swept her. *How did the person come in through the gate, past the gate and to the door.* She asked herself. She noticed that there were two men at the door talking and laughing as though they were drunk “Hey man open up Pierre” we’ve been knocking for hours, aren’t you going to the bar with us anymore?” She relaxed, it was Ben together with Ike, Obviously they had come looking for the demon. Yes of course they knew how to open the gate from outside, the demon had thought them that. It was a matter of intelligence, and they were so good at it, that people Wouldn’t even notice. This only applied when they had knocked severally and he didn’t show up. But she became so lazy to stand up, there was no use opening the door for them, The Demon was no where to be found. Hilda ran and opened the door, just then she became startled when she saw her mum in the sitting room. They both came inside and saw her lying on the sofa, her eyes closed. She pretended to have woken up. “Welcome sirs” she said. …………………………………………… They had left already, and while walking to the bar, they conversed . “Hmmm I wonder where he must be, by Now. “He must be so angry with his wife” Said a suspicious Ben “Oh, poor woman,” he said in sympathy. ……………………………………………… As he climbed the tree, something stung him. It was an ant, but there were yet others on his body, what had he done. Pierre writhed In pains, as he tried regaining balance, he was about falling off. ………………………………………………… The police had combed the whole area, across the little community, and to no avail. The search for the alleged murderer Pierre had been on for many days, but he seemed to be so smart enough to go to a very distant place. It was time for them to give up the search, it was already a week now and there wasn’t any result. Mary came to sitting room and found Hilda crying, “hey baby, hurry we have to leave today” she said. But Hilda sobbed the more. “Martins” said the little girl, and wept aloud. The mum couldn’t understand why she called the name in that manner, but she knew that the littler girl was growing to be more intelligent and had started to understand the effect of what dad had done. “I won’t forgive dad” said Hilda. Mary who had come to console her daughter, became alarmed. “Did she really mean that ? But yes, Hilda meant it, she couldn’t forget a bit of what he had done. “Let’s go darling”. They packed their things, and left with the baby. Mary carried the baby at her back with some little bags on her hand, Hilda carried the carried another bag containing the baby’s clothes. This was going to be one of their worst encounters on earth. No idea of their destination, they just had to escape. She put her whole savings in one side of her bag, it was time to start life anew. “May God forgive you Pierre” she said painfully with regrets of ever knowing him and closed the gate behind them. They were leaving for good.
