Confused

1042 Words
I spend the next two days in my room. Ryan and Kate try calling and texting and have even come up to the house three times to check on me. I assure them that everything is fine and that I just need some time to think things through. But the reality is, I am hiding. Hiding from everyone at college because I know how quick gossip spreads. Also hiding from my mate because I am not ready to face him again. I think I am scared. Scared and confused. My life has been challenging at times but no major changes have actually happened before. This is the biggest change I am faced with and it is scary. I do not know what this man is like.  From first impressions he seems polite but far too mysterious for my liking. Why was he scared of me trying to find out information about him? That is kind of creepy. After all, he could be a murderer or something.  I hear a knock on the door. For the fourth time today, my mams voice calls out my name. "Victoria!" she calls. I don't answer her calls. Instead I choose to ignore her in the hopes that she leaves me alone. "Vicky!" she calls again. I can hear her try and unlock the door. Its locked thankfully. "Honey, whats wrong? You haven't left the room in three days," she says. I roll my eyes. I didn't think that she noticed since she is always so preoccupied with everything else around her. "Mom, I'm fine I swear. I just want to be alone and clear my head that's all," I shout back. As much as I love my mother I never thought of her as a comforting type. If I told her what happened she would ask too many questions. Or she would get annoyed at me for the way I treated my mate. I wouldn't blame her though. I was a bit rude to him. But that being said, he was not the nicest to me either.  "Can I please come in, I know what happened!" she says. I frown. How on earth could she possibly know anything that goes on in my life? I jump out of bed and unlock the door. She pushes it open. "I called Kate and asked her. It didn't take long to convince her because she is very worried about you," she explains. I roll my eyes. Typical Kate. She always worries too much about everything and everyone. Regardless of whether its her business or not. "Mom I don't want to talk about it, ok?" I state. I really do not want to talk about it. I want to move past it. As much as my body craves to be with my mate, my mind is stronger and I have more important things to focus on. For example, my training. I haven't trained in two days now. This has never happened before. I just met my mate and he has already had such a huge impact on my life. "Look, I know you. You are strong and independent. But if you don't give this whole mate thing a try you won't know what you're missing out on. This mate can't be that bad. I am sure the moon goddess paired you together for a reason. You fit perfectly, you just don't know it yet," she explains. I sigh. I don't know what I am missing out on, but I rather keep it that way. "What is his name? Maybe I know him and I can tell you more about him. I know a lot of wolves," she tells me. I shrug which earns a confused look from my mother. "I don't know his name," I admit. The confusion on my mothers face grows. "What do you mean? Haven't you guys talked?" she questions.  "Yeah we talked, but he seems so secretive. He would not tell me his name or any information about him in case I tried searching information about him on social media," I explain. My mam stares at me blankly unsure of what to say. "I don't know how to help you with that one love," she begins. "I am sure it will be okay in the end. After all, you are your fathers daughter. You always overcome any obstacles that come your way. You are the most courageous woman I have ever met. We are both very proud of you," she tells me and gives me a small hug.  "I am making dinner downstairs, come have some food whenever you're ready," she adds and plants a kiss on my forehead. I squint my eyes as she leaves the room. I have never received this kind of attention from her. It feels rather strange.  A couple minutes go by before I decide to go downstairs for food. I am sitting in the kitchen with my mam and brother James before we hear a knock on the door. The knock is loud and echoes in the entire house. It sends shivers down my spine. How strange. "I'll get it," shouts James jumping up from his chair. My wolf steps in and before I know it, I am on my feet, standing between my brother and the door. He gives me a puzzled look. I am just as confused as he is.  "I got it, you stay here and finish your dinner," I say and head towards the door. The closer I get to the door, the more my heart begins to pound in my chest. I feel like my chest is tightening and it is difficult to breathe. I open the door and much to my surprise, a tall, dark, handsome man is standing before me with his back turned to me. I already know who it is without seeing his face. The sparks within my body says it all. My wolf freaks out and tries to gain control of my body but i do my best to suppress her.  He turns around slowly with a wide grin on his face. The confused expression remains imprinted on my face. "Wha-who-how" I stutter. This makes his smile grow further. "I told you I would find you," he claims. My soul leaves my body. Am I mated to a stalker?
