CHAPTER4:Getting used to the systems

A maid knocked at her door gently, you can come in, she saw fear in the maid’s eyes her hands trembling, Good morning l am sorry the coffe is not enough, no problem Amelia replied, the maid stared at Amelia in shock Amelia gave her a wry look she asked you are not pissed? Amelia answered I am not pissed, the maids face lightened up filled with relief you are the first person that has ever talked to me cheerfully since I came, Amelia smiled at her what is your name, I am Odessa she said happily to Amelia, Odessa feel free to call me Amelia I don’t bite I am only human like you, Odessa smiled at her thank you bending her head appreciatively to Amelia, after eating Amelia decided to go downstairs to take a walk as she tried going out of the gate Blake stopped her please you are not allowed to step out of this gate, why she frowned it is an instruction I might loose my job if you are allowed outside, she smiled, a loud sound echoed behind her a tray had slipped out of a maids hand, It was an old maiden she saw Valentina slapping the woman and asking if she was mad that pissed Amelia off, she walked up to Valentina don’t you ever hit anyone in this building again, Valentina stared at her furiously you have no right to tell me what to do she made a mistake and I have to correct her, with a slap ?? The old maiden looked at Amelia surprisingly no one has ever stood up for her and they don’t dare to talk back at Valentina since she came, thank you Mrs Damien the old woman said faintly she felt so happy, you don’t treat any one with such manner it is bad and not accepted here besides she is an old maiden old enough to be your mother, Valentina was pained she left Amelia and the old maiden furiously, the old maiden bent down thanking Amelia no ma’am you don’t have to thank me Amelia hugged her tightly, the new madam is different she said within herself she is kind hearted and cheerful. Dominic returned that afternoon Amelia was in the sitting room seeing a movie, Dominic was shocked to see his timid village wife in the sitting room, someone left her room, you seems different I think your wings are growing bigger Amelia replied If my wings don’t grow bigger I can’t fly higher she said aloud no longer in a fearful tone, Dominic walked down to the coach where she was sitting and leaned his lips against hers she didn’t shive or stutter she stood firm with her gaze directly on Dominic’s eyes, Dominic flickered a bit then he gave a wicked smile and left. That evening Amelia stood alone in the balcony, she watched the sky and imagined her parents might also be staring at same sky, even when she thinks her parents gave her out, her parent’s failed in their duty to protect her, she couldn’t see herself hating them, she misses them a lot tears filled her eyes she didn’t let them fall she smiled when will I see them again I dont know when I will see them again but when I do, I will not be that helpless girl who left them crying I will be someone they can be proud of, she was still that timid girl but her predicament has made her a little bit stronger than she was, Amelia went inside thinking If Dominic is still coming into her room today she prayed he didn’t come so she can gladly sleep peacefully.

Amelia retired to her bed after freshening up she had a crack in her door, this time it wasn’t it Dominic the shadow on the wall was that of a girl and she could immediately recognize her as Valentina she stood beside her bed trying to get her, Amelia quickly rolled down from her bed with that fear, Valentina heard the sound coming from the opposite direction she walked down to where she heard the noise, Amelia aimed for her legs as she was about stepping on her she held her both legs with the strength left in her, Valentina stumbled on the ground hitting her head so hard that she went unconscious for some moment Amelia switched on the light, she saw Valentina on the ground lying unconsciously, she was shaking uncontrollably out of fear she saw some pills in her pocket she didn’t try touching them, she walked straight to Dominic’s room to tell him what just happened he was fast asleep she could hear him snow, she knocked with all the strength she had remaining she was panting out of fear, Dominic opened his door with sleepy eyes little princess why are you here, do you wanna f**k she held his hand furiously straight to her room still panting out of fear, Dominic was shocked what is she doing here lying motionless Amelia wasn’t mute she explained all that has transpired, Dominic just told her to have some sleep that is nothing serious, she flared up someone trying to kill me or do something bad to me isn’t serious? Dominic stared at her, in this house all of this is normal, you have to be fit to survive here, Dominic dragged Valentina like a pieces of trash out of Amelia’s room, she was stunned the way he dragged her this was the same woman he f****d the previous night, Amelia knew she had so many battles to fight. She couldn’t find sleep all through the night she prayed to God for her safety all through the night she was still shivering and panting out of fear.
