~OLIVIA~ “Grandma, I'd like you to meet Olivia, my fiance." As the words leaves Xavier's lips, I quickly compose myself and smile at Madam Odell, extending my hand out to her. “It's nice to finally meet you, Madam Odell. Xavier has told me so much about you.” I say with a smile as I anticipate her response. A bright smile plasters on her face as she spreads her arms wide and hugs me tightly. “My goodness, she's even more beautiful in person.” Madam Odell beams and I stare at her, feeling a bit perplex. In person? Has she seen me before? I notice how her gaze scrutinizes my body from head to toe and she seems pleased by the look on her face. “Tell me, dearest, how did you meet my grandson?” She asks as she pulls me into the living room and we both settle down on the sofa. “Well —” “We've been dating for a while, grandma.” Xavier cuts me off as he sits beside me, wrapping his arms possessively around my shoulder. I nod slightly, forcing a smile on my face but deep down, I felt bad that we were lying to the nice old lady. I could see that she cares for her grandson so much and I knew it would break her heart if she finds out we are lying to her. If she finds out though. “Really?” Madam Odell asks, the look on her face showing that she found it hard to believe. “Why else did you think I refused to go on the blind dates you set up for me? Olivia is quite the possessive type you see,” He says as he tightens his grip on my shoulder and I began feeling a bit uncomfortable. “We didn't want to make our relationship public yet but got a bit careless that day.” Xavier explains and a scowl appears on Madam Odell's face. “So you had to let me find out through the internet?! Is that how little you value me?!” She snaps at Xavier and he flinches a bit. What did she mean by find out through the internet? “I was going to tell you soon enough, grandma but you ended up finding out earlier. I'm sorry.” He says and Madam Odell turns her attention back to me. “I'm just glad that someone finally managed to tie down this uptight grandson of mine.” She beams and I smile slightly. “So tell me, Olivia, where are you from? And what do you do? Are you working yet? And what do your parents do? Where do they live?” Madam Odell asks all at once and I stare at, feeling a bit overwhelmed. I had no idea which question to answer first but I dare not keep silent for long. I am about to speak when Xavier cuts in again. “Grandma I think you should settle down first before tiring out my woman with your questions.” Xavier says and my heart skips a beat at his words but I immediately brush it aside as I know it is all a facade. After Madam Odell had settled in, we had dinner together and all was going smoothly so far. I could see how much Xavier respects his grandmother and how much Madam Odell loves him, and it made me remember my mom. I wonder how she is doing. I know she's probably wondering the same as well and I wish I could see her at that moment and reassure her that I was alright. After dinner, I was ready to go to bed. I am about to enter one of the rooms when Madam Odell calls me back. “Is this where you sleep?” She asks with furrowed brows and I slowly bob my head. She turns to Xavier who had just come up the stairs at that moment. “You two stay in separate rooms?” She asks him with a frown and Xavier glances at me before turning back to Madam Odell. “I did that to give her privacy so she doesn't get pressured to do anything she isn't ready for.” He responds calmly and Madam Odell let's out a scoff. “You are such a worry wart, Xavier. There's no need for that. I would be more than delighted if you two give me a grandchild as soon as possible.” I stare at her in shock on hearing her words and glance at Xavier who seems unfazed by her words. He clears his throat and walks up to her, holding her firmly by her shoulders. “Grandma, don't you think you're being a little too hasty? Olivia and I aren't even married yet. There's no need to put that kind of pressure on us.” He says with a smile and Madam Odell bobs her head. “I guess you're right then.” She responds and I exhale deeply, feeling a little relieved, however her next words shocks me to the bones. “Then how about we move up the wedding? Since you two are obviously in love, there's no need delaying any further.” She beams and I choke on my saliva. Marriage?! That wasn't part of the contract! And I definitely can't marry someone as arrogant and self centered as Xavier. He's no different from my ex boyfriend. “Grandma, that wasn't what I meant —” “Then it's settled! You two will be married in two weeks.” Madam Odell says with a tone of finality and I widen my eyes in shock. “What?! Two week?!” Xavier and I exclaim at the same time and she bobs her head. “It will be the biggest wedding of the year and the internet will blow up!” She beams and I stare at Xavier in shock, pleading with my eyes for him to say something. “Grandma,” “Don't worry. I'll take care of everything. You two just sit back and let me handle it.” She cuts him off and walks off happily. She was really serious! No, this can't be happening!
