She sucked in a deep breath. "Is Eldar still in there?"
"Impossible to say," Xeon growled.

Xeon bit back his natural revolt.

Without speaking, they arrived in the big lumber yard, their strides hardly swirling a leaf as they strode in silence. To some extent, Xeon could hear the rustle of night creatures and the babble of a shallow river, but there was no sense of mortal or demon in the shadows.
