(Siobhan’s P.O.V)
“Your grandfather was able to tell you?” I ask in surprise.
“Yes. Just give me a minute, I need to take a piss. Not sure why, but every time I visit him when I come back to my body I need to piss.” He murmurs, getting off the bed and making his way into the bathroom.
You may want to hide, Si.
I don’t know what you mean Tala.
After the toilet flushes and I hear the tap on the sink turn on, I hear Tiernan gasp and then growl in annoyance. He comes stomping back into the room and is a raging bull without the horns.
“What the f**k did you do to my face?” He growls.
“Well, Camilla had a new eyeshadow palette that she wanted to try out and you were visiting your grandfather. I didn’t think you would mind.” I say, shrugging my shoulders.
While he was out of his body, the girls and I had gotten bored for the better part of two hours and decided that Tiernan needed a new look. Camilla did have a new eyeshadow palette that she wanted to swatch, so we used him as a guinea pig. They were jewel tones, so they really brought out his deep blue eyes.
“I think you look rather fetching,” Artis says, in a British accent.
“Yeah, the eyeshadow really sets off your eye color,” I say, trying to hold back my laughter.
Finally, Anders and Preston lose their self-control and tumble out of their chairs laughing at Tiernan’s new face. He storms off back to the bathroom to wash the make-up off, while everyone in my bedroom is absolutely losing their s**t. He comes back, sans make-up, glaring daggers at me before sitting on the bed next to me.
“So, my grandfather told me that it is up to us to rescue the children and stop Scàthach because the Celestials are all on even footing and cannot move against one another. It’s against their laws, no one Celestial has dominion overall. The Goddess Danu can still sense the children, so their tether to life has not been cut. The downside is that they cannot locate the children within Scàthach’s palace. He and the other Celestials agreed to make us a portal to enter Annwn to rescue the children before the Blood Moon and to destroy Scàthach.” He states.
“How do we kill Scàthach? She’s a Goddess!” Anders exclaims.
“Oh, I honestly forgot to ask about that,” Tiernan mumbles, his brow furrowing.
“Goddess above! Seriously Tiernan? You can’t be that stupid! You knew that we would need to know that information.” I bark.
“I was more focused on figuring out how to rescue the kids and how the portal was going to work, Si.” He barks back, the annoyance dripping from his tone.
“Alright, you two. Calm down. Alpha Tiernan, can you please tell us what Arwan told you about the ritual?” Preston asks, effectively ending our argument before it began.
“My grandfather told me that the ritual was meant to give Scàthach enough power to overthrow the other Celestials, possibly even killing them. He didn’t go into detail about the ritual but that is WHY she wants to perform the ritual in the first place.”
“Okay, when is he going to set up our portal?” Anders asks.
“Ummm…about that. I forgot to ask before he sent me back,” He mumbles.
I couldn’t help the shriek that leaves my mouth.
“Are you even an Alpha!? We needed that information! Goddess above Tiernan does your brain even work!?” I yell.
A look of shock and hurt flashed across his face at my words, he gets up from the bed before addressing everyone.
“I’ll be going back to the pack now. Let me know how the meeting with the High Priestess goes.”
And just like that, he grabs his bag and the dirty clothes he had on earlier and walks out of the suite. I feel the prick of tears behind my eyes, I hadn’t meant to insinuate that he wasn’t an Alpha.
“That was f****d up Si,” Artis says, shaking her head.
“Yeah, I get that you’re frustrated that he didn’t think to ask those kinds of questions, but he’s not used to this type of s**t. He’s an Alpha and a business owner, not an FBI agent.” Preston adds, before walking out of my room.
“That was really shitty of you,” Camilla whispers, before patting me on the shoulder and walking away.
Anders and Artis follow Camilla out of my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts and emotions.
(Scàthach’s P.O.V)
These little brats were getting on my nerves, the constant whining and crying for their families was driving me up the wall. I had to keep reminding myself that it was only for another 2 weeks and then they will be out of my hair for good.
“My lady, we have a letter from the Celestials,” James says.
James was a Lost soul that I grew attached to while escorting him to purgatory, he was given a really shitty hand in the Human Realm, so I didn’t feel like he deserved to be in purgatory. He didn’t deserve for me to feed off him for all eternity either. So, he became my right-hand man so to speak, my only friend and confidant.
“What does it say?” I ask.
“It states that they know of the children and asks that you release them back to the Human Realm and to their families. They would like to discuss with you the terms of your house arrest.”
“Interesting. They found out about the children. How?” I mutter.
“Well, the kidnappings did gain a certain amount of media attention in the Human Realm and now the Lunar Realm has gotten wind of it. So, it isn’t all that shocking that the news would have gotten to the Celestials. Also, you know how much the Goddess Danu likes to take over cats to watch true crime and f**k with the humans.” James says.
“Then she must have been in the Human Realm and heard the news. How are the children doing, by the way?”
“Constantly crying. The guards are getting annoyed and it’s getting harder for them not to strike out at the children.” He states.
Most of my guards are Lost souls like James, while James’s soul was truly ambiguous, the souls of my guards were black as pitch. They were murderers and abusers of women/children/men. They committed heinous crimes in the Human Realm, and they were sent to me for purgatory, however, I decided to put them to better use by creating an army to help me overthrow the Celestials.
“Keep an eye on them, James, the children are not to be harmed. Also, reply to our dearest friends that, in no uncertain terms, will I stop what I am doing until they are nothing more than an ant on the bottom of my boot.” I say.
“Right away, ma’am.”
