The look on Mavis’s face was a reward in itself. I glared at him, my anger barely contained. “What did you just do?” he asked in a low, threatening tone. “It’s not even enough to calm me down. As if making my life miserable isn’t enough, you had to drag Oliver into it, too,” I snapped, and he smirked. His smirk only fueled my rage. “The punk got what he deserved,” Mavis said with a shrug, his lack of remorse infuriating me further. “You are a monster, and one day you’ll face retribution,” I said before walking away.
