Chapter [3]

[That person who enters your life out of nowhere, and suddenly means the world to you.] Titus ran through the woods dodging trees and jumping over falling logs. It’s been so long since he’s let his wolf have full control of his body. He and his wolf enjoyed the feeling of the soil beneath his paws, the wind flowing through his fur, and the smell of the woods. Titus ran so fast that everything was a blur. Titus slowed down so that he was at a jogging paced once he was close to his destination. “Where are we going I thought we were going to the pack house” Titus asked his wolf Jack. “We are but I wanted to make a quick detour” Jack said as he continued on his way. A few minutes later Titus and his wolf arrived at a beautiful cliff looking over the ocean and some of his pack territory. The clear water reflected the light of the moon making it look like the star had fallen and landed in the water, and the trees swayed in the wind. The cliff was breath taking yet Titus wasn’t effected by the view. He’d been here before, quit often. This was his thinking place where he’d go to clear his head. Which was quit often. “What are we doing up here Jack?” Titus asked sounding a bit impatient. “Damn hold your horses, you’ll see” Jack said. The wolf slowly walked so he was standing on the very edge of the cliff. He tilted his head back to look at the moon and howled. He released all the years of bent up anger, sadness, and longing. Longing for a mate. Now he had one, even though she was human. He continued to howl and howl till all the air left his lungs. “Feeling better now?” Titus asked mentally rolling his eyes. “I know your being sarcastic but yes I am” His wolf replied happily wagging his tail. Titus sat on the edge and stared at the moon, thinking about his mate. He wanted to know everything about her. Like her favorite color? Her favorite flower? Her favorite memory? He wanted to everything embarrassing secret about her because he wanted Blyth to see him not just and a mate but a friend. Titus got up from where he was sitting and went to where he had been originally going. The pack house. It wasn’t that far from where he was so he decided to take a little stroll through the woods. As he walked he could hear all the little animals scurrying around on the forest floor and in the trees above him. It didn’t take him long to get to the pack once Titus did he shifted out of his wolf form and changed into a pair of shorts that was hidden behind a tree for when people shift and need a pair of clothes. Titus jogged up to the front door and practically broke through the door. Not caring that it was a little pasted midnight or if any one was asleep. Titus walked farther in to the huge house to see his beta, gamma, and Savannah sitting on the couch in the living room playing a later night game of call of duty. “Ha take that losers, I win again” Savannah said while doing a happy dance in front of the boys. “No fair you cheated” cried Titus’ beta Matthew. “Your only saying that because you lose” Savannah replied sticking up. Matthew was about to say something else when Titus cleared his throat catching all three of them attentions. “Can you all please grow up, I have something important to tell you” Titus said rolling his eyes taking a seat on the couch. All three of them settled down and took a seat on the couch beside him. “What is so important that you had to interrupt our late night game?” Dylan asked crossing his arms. “Well if you must know” Titus said pausing for dramatic effect. “I found my mate” Just the though of his mate made Titus’ heart skip a beat and a smile to his face. “Congrats man I know how much finding her meant to you” Matthew said patting him on the back. “So I’m guessing there’s a problem since this chick isn’t with you” Sapphire said rolling her eyes. What Titus didn’t know was Sapphire liked him as more than a friend, ever since they were kids. On his sixteenth birthday, Sapphire was secretly hoping that she was his mate. “Damn Sapph, be happy for the guy,” Dylan said ruffling up her hair. Swatting away his hand she said, “In just being honest if there wasn’t a problem do you really think he would be here right know?” “No, she’s right I do have a small problem,” Taylor said. “How small?” Mathew asked suspiciously. “She’s human and may or may not be seventeen” “Dude that’s not a small problem! Imagine how the pack will feel if they have not just a human but a seventeen-year-old luna. What will your parents think? Hell, what will her parents think when a twenty-five-year-old show up to take there daughter on a date Titus ” Matthew yelled jumping up from the couch. Although Titus was his alpha Mathew was still his best friend, and he wanted his friend to think about not just him self. “I know Mathew, but she’s my mate and I can’t walk away from her. I’ve waited my whole life to find her and now that I did I can’t even hold her. You don’t know hard this is to me. At this point, I don’t care what the pack or her parents think.” “Really Titus you can’t or you won’t walk away because now you’re just sounding selfish you only think about your self. A human can’t run a pack. What if she rejects you, your not only putting our pack in danger but our entire species.” “How am I being selfish Mathew, if anything you’re not being supportive. Your suppose to be my best friend. If her being my mate was such a problem the moon goddess wouldn’t of paired her with me.” “I won’t be supportive of a person only think with their d**k, for once in your life pull your head out of your ass!” Mathew yelled as he shoved Titus He stumbled due to the force but quickly composed himself. Titus’ wolf was surfacing due to the lack of respect from a pack member. Titus wrapped his hand around Mathews neck and pinned him to the nearest wall. “I may be your friend but I’m still your Alpha. Next time you disrespect me I won’t hesitate to put you in your place.” Titus said through gritted teeth. He released Matthew, then stormed out of the packhouse.
